Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum review

A gem of a game, in some ways better than the original NWN. Received mediocre reviews on launch for the base game because it was system-intensive. This is a good package that will provide tens if not hundreds of hours of playability. The only downside is the online community is still smaller as of this posting than it is for the original NWN online community.

Neverwinter Nights 2: Awesome sauce

This does work on Windows 7 64bit despite what it states on the requirements.

The game itself is awesome, the implementation of the 3.5 ruleset is great and includes alot of the updates to the D&D mechanics. Graphically this is a vast improvement on the original, the environments are great and very detailed. This however is not so true on the characters themselves.

The music and sound effects are good and the only area that really makes me shake my head are the voice overs. The first voice you hear in game is so ridiculous I started chuckling all through the tutorial.

A great game regardless. At under a tenner with all the expansions - this is a steal

Neverwinter Nights 2 has some very big shoes to fill, and it doesn't quite stand up to the challenge. The single-player story is interesting and engaging, so that's good. Even better, the multiplayer developer tools are fantastic and allow for an immense amount of world and character customization. What holds this title back are the ridiculous glitches, poor user interface, and abhorrent camera controls. It really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

This is a great game that I believe didn't get the attention it deserved. In my opinion its better than the first Neverwinter Nights, with a much better story and campaign as well as graphics. Also, the expansions were great too, especially Mask of the Betrayer - it held a storyline that was almost as good as Planescape Torments with its depth. Really spectacular. The other expansion Storm of Zehir was good too, adding and changing things such as real time travelling across the world map, a really enhanced conversation system but unfortunately it never changed the main game.

Great game, took me ages to complete, many hours worth of enjoyment.

This is a very good cRPR. It is also possible to play it on-line with great features!. Very good to play with friends and alone, so finally i consider it a COMPLETE RPG.

It's a story driven dungeon game. I heard the expansions are amazing so definitely worth picking up on sale. I haven't gotten too far into it, but I can see myself playing the game until the end.

If you love NWN1, BG series, IWD series, then NWN should really also go into your collection. Although it is not as perfect as NWN1, there're still a lot of adventures, tactical combats, character buildings and stories to go through in this bundle, and they are all in quite decent shape. Plus it has much better graphic, plus there's a pretty large modding community to develop new campaign. Overall, it worth the money.(And it's a steal if you catch a deal)

Downside of this game is that it falls short when compare to NWN1, though it is a great game on its own. Another short side about this bundle is the absence of MoW.

An excellent RPG series with decent turn based combat and good story, worth it if your a hard core D&D fan.

NWN2 Review

Neverwinter Nights 2 is a fairly good game, but in my opinion fell a little bit short in comparison to the previous title. The graphics are a major overhaul and some aspects of game play have been improved as well. The single player campaign is pretty well put together also.

But many people, who used to play PnP (pencil and paper) Dungeons and Dragons, didn't really buy either title for the single player mode. (like me) The toolset and DM client allow for nearly infinite possibilities within the realm of computerized D&D. The ability to create your own adventure (mods) down to the smallest detail and then run them as the Dungeon Master is the real shining gem to this game!

As well as the tools provided with this game is the amazing, helpful and incredibly talented player community that helps support it. If the support shown for the previous title stays true with this game, expect to continue being able to play online 10 years from now. (NWN1 has been out for nearly 10 years and still has a very active online playing community) In other words, the replay factor is huge with this title.

I recommend this game if you are true D&D fan! I strongly recommend this title if you are an old Dungeon Master looking to create your own worlds on the computer!

Good game. nice graphics, great inventory for storing your goods, good versatile character builder giving you lots of options to choose from in the game's library, and a nice bonus with the game editor. If your the type who likes their RPG's with lots of story to it, long winded dialog, and the traditional rules that follow the Dungeons and Dragons gameplay then this is the game for you. I have anticipated playing this game and was a little disappointed with it at first but with this game you have to play it for a little while before dismissing it. It can be addictive but I do have to say this game is for someone who loves RPG's and likes giving a command to your character and it does the actions for you. For me, that used to be fun but lately I've been wanting to perform the tasks on my own without watching the results play out. I would like to recommend Dungeon Siege, it's kinda like NWN but you have more control over your character with that same ambiance. P.S. I admit this game is definitely addictive to play I just didn't realize how much fun it can actually be. After all the introductions are made, then the fun begins with your quests.
