Extremely Poorly Optimized Port

By babyshrimp21 posted 22nd April

Were this game ported properly to the PC it would enjoy 5 stars. The gameplay, story and world in both GTAIV and Episodes are quite vibrant and will give you hours of good and enjoyable gameplay. However good luck trying to find that enjoyment if you can manage to get the game to work smoothly on your PC. This is perhaps one of the most horrible ports I've ever encountered and it drains away resources on PC's that far exceed its requirements yet still runs like a slideshow at times. Installing the patches hardly helps either. I'm not sure if the other guys here had better luck but I tried this on 2 PC's with the same results.

Quite a good addon for the Grand Theft Auto series. The Lost and the Damned needs to be played carefully tho since the bikes are not the easiest vehicle to use in the game

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition review

Grand Theft Auto III was a revolutionary title, one that inspired a whole new generation of 3D action games. Grand Theft Auto IV is just as big a leap forward, though perhaps in subtler ways, and sets a new benchmark for open-world games. Everything in GTA IV works in harmony. The story would be nothing without the city; the city gains realism from the physics engine; the physics complement the improved AI; the AI would make no sense without the new cover system. And on and on. There is no one major weak aspect.

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition review

I played all previous games in series. So buying this GTA was almost necessity especially with this collection and moreover when this was sold as special offer.

In my opinion this game is far more better than the previous one in GTA series. Even so it seems to me that the series loosing it's dynamic, the wow effect is not there any more. I finish the story line or at least finish it to the point where I could get. Unfortunately I am one of those which cannot finish it completely, because of bug with chopper in last mission. Well, what I want to say is that I don't have much urge to finish the rest of game, meaning races, dating etc. It's like something is missing there, something which force a player to enjoy even the simple roam around city.

Really good game but sadly still to this day needs a good PC to be able to play it with high graphics settings, and it's more cpu than gpu hungry game.

Ballads of gay Tony is a blast, really great dlc you can't go wrong with.

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition review

Even though I have no great love for GTAIV, it is a decent game and one that no gamer could possibly go without trying. And this Complete Edition has hit some silly-low prices in recent months.

Containing both the original GTAIV (which stretches its story over a long, sometimes arduous journey through Liberty City) and the two DLC expansions, The Lost And Damned (a subdued biker story) and The Ballad of Gay Tony (a colorful GTAIV extreme), this pack certainly does contain a lot of bang-per-buck, and through the magic of PC mods, has some amazingly jaw-dropping graphics.

Really, this should be in everybody's catalogue. Eventually.

Excellent step forward in the GTA series. New engine allows for a rich gameplay experience. The stories are easy to get into and the characters are lots of fun. Rockstar definitely knows what they're doing.
