Definitely a good game, albeit flawed with the various issues it has in regards to stability.

The price is very reasonable considering how it includes all DLC and expansions, with the exception of US cities and later.

I picked this up out of curiosity more than anything and found it to be a really enjoyable experience. The amount of depth that it provides was surprising. My initial assumption that just building transportation systems within pre-existing cities would be simple and straightforward was quickly proven as incorrect. Determining which mode of transportation, which vehicle, how many stops, where to place those stops, etc was quite a challenge. The game was peaceful and relaxing while keeping me on edge at the same time. If you enjoy building and maintaining infrastructure aspects from city sims, check this game out.

First, I have to say that this game isn't for everyone. You gotta have a soft spot for micromanaging and detailed planning to be able to fully enjoy this transport simulation game. If you do, then you'll have a very rewarding experience. In this game, you own a transportation company and have to make lines (for buses, trams, subways), assign vehicles to those lines and set salaries for your workers, always trying to provide quality services without going bankrupt. At first, the amount of variables will drive you mad, having to restart the game several times until you pick up the pace. When you do, you'll have a great time playing it.

Overall Great Gameplay

By Poptarts posted 1st August 2011

I've really enjoyed playing the Cities in Motion series. Initially when I first installed the game, I felt the UI was a bit cumbersome (especially on high resolutions where the UI is smaller because there's no scaling). Luckily, the gameplay itself makes up for any issues I had with the game once I got acclimated to it. The mechanics provide challenging scenarios where players must both meet the demands of the public while also maintaining a balanced budget. If the idea of designing city-wide transportation systems appeals to you, then this game is made just for you.

PROS:

Very in-depth strategy, good replay value, intuitive design of route selection and implementation, stable code

CONS:

Limited selection of vehicles, no multi-player, very few maps to play on (without downloading user-content)
