ArmA 2 Combined Operations review

I like most people bought this for DayZ, but when DayZ got boring I tried the actual game, and it should not be overlooked, from large scale operations played with a bunch of people over voice comms, to the various RP servers. ARMA II has a lot to offer

This is a very fun game if you like FPS games.

I personally play this game with 2 mods on multiplayer, DayZ and Wasteland. With those 2 mods (that I have only tried) you can get countless of fun hours, though at start, it might take som time to get used to how the game works and feels. Go check out Wasteland and/or DayZ on YouTube, I recommend from "barbaricmustard" and "paycer" as they show much cool and funny moments.

This game is great, it is based on how it is in the real army by the possibilities this game gives you. There are other good add ons for the game but also there is a mod called DayZ which changes the game completely by adding zombies and fighting to survive i really recommend this game to any one 10/10 :)

ArmA 2 is a fantastic military war simulator game, but what really sets it apart is it, mod community, more specifically day-Z and Wasteland. Day-Z is a post-apocalyptic war zone were you have little ammo, suppies and allies. The key goal in Day-z is to survive not just from the zombies outbreak but more importantly surviving other players.

Great game, everything you need to play mods. I don't think there are any other games than ARMA and Operation Flashpoint that offer the same kind of gameplay. While today it's outdated, still little compares to it. And having Combined Operation gives you access to all the mods which in turn is like having many games in one. Simply amazing.

The ArmA II: Combined Operations release offers the players plenty of authentic military action. The included original title as well as its expansion is easily one of the most involved experiences I’ve ever had. Besides the single player campaign players can jump into 50+ online multiplayer battles for up to 18 players. For those not interested in the multiplayer matches you can still engage in battle scenarios, visit the armory, and play with over 300 different weapons, vehicles and units.

Arma II and it's sequel, Operation Arrowhead are both great games/expansions.

It features immensely realistic teamplay and shooting. It has the great mod "DayZ" which is one of the best mods ever made. The sales of Arma II: CO went up by 500% after DayZ was released.

Arma II, simply put is the only simulator that simulates modern combined warfare. Giving you complete freedom over how to do things and having a HUGE map of operation, it gives you and your squad every incentive to do something out of the box. Visually its very impressive and the physics engine is top notch. Arma II Combined operations give you Arma II and Arma II Operation Arrowhead standalone expansion as a bundle, offering 2 intense campaigns and a really good multiplayer that emphasizes teamplay. And oh, there's also a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE SIMULATOR MOD FOR FREE FOR IT. DayZ.

Worth every dollar.

ArmA 2 Combined Operations review

ArmA II: Combined Operations is a bundle that includes both the original ArmA II and the massive ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead expansion.

ARMA II -- The 27th U.S. Marine Expeditionary Unit has been deployed to the former soviet republic of Chernarus: a small country chained to the threat of an upcoming civil war. Force Reconnaissance Team "Razor" is among the first to fight. This elite five-man team is about to fall down the rabbit hole, trapped in a war not only for control of the country, but also the hearts and minds of its people. Arma II is based on the latest generation technology, offering large –scale game world, authentic and extremely detailed modern units, weapons, vehicles and environments, challenging single player and vast array of multiplayer options.

OPERATION ARROWHEAD -- The action resumes three years after the conflict in Chernarus, portrayed in the original Arma 2. A new flashpoint in the Green Sea region heats up and coalition forces led by the US Army are sent to Takistan to quickly restore peace and prevent further civilian casualties. In Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead’s all-new single-player and multiplayer campaigns, players will experience new large-scale maps, and new simulation features that include new radio chatter and languages, controllable Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, thermal imaging, decoy flares and smoke screen cover. Additionally, owners of the original Arma 2 will now be able to utilize Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead's new weaponry, vehicles and factions in the multiplayer mode of Arma 2, breathing new life into the battle.

Up front, if you just want a quick verdict, I am highly impressed with this bundle. It does however require a great deal of patience and some time to enjoy it.

The single player consists of 2 big, 1 mini and 1 preview campaign, effectively the first mission of PMC.

There are also a number of single missions. The 2 big campaigns, from ArmA 2 and OA respectively are quite different. Where the OA campaign is very nice and worked for me without so much as a hitch, consisting of very nice missions, the ArmA 2 campaign was full of scrips not working and having to restart a 90 minute mission, (most of which are the same search and destroy type missions) because somebody got hit by a stray bullet or or script wouldn't fire. The mini campaign is quite good however also very short, took me 90 minutes to get thorough it.

The single missions are, for the most part pretty good for a quick fix, such as a quick patrol from a to b to c to a in a chopper and kill some enemies while you are at it missions. Or clear the village etc.

I have not spent much time in multilayer and in fact find this game to only be really suitable for single and co-op play, however many others seem to enjoy multilayer greatly
