XIII Century Gold Edition review

By DavidGil posted 17th July 2010

The XIII Century Gold Edition is really pretty good value for money. For starters, at the time of writing the review, it's the same price as Blood of Europe.

You get a total of around twenty eight (plus five bonus battles) historical battles with the pack and each is challenging. Then there is also custom play which extends the game's life. There's also multiplayer as well.

There is no mode though that allows you to train armies, build cities and capture territories though, which might be seen as a downside to some people. Personally, it just means the games focus on providing good battles. Also, the battles are akin to what you'd find in Total War games. I.e. there is no base building and such.

Overall, if you're strategy fan and like medieval combat (plus history), the pack is worthwhile getting.
