Warhammer 40k Dawn of War Gold review

By volksgrenadier128 posted 6th Aug 2010

Summary:

Grate game, whose concept of unit micromanagement was exported to the great game Company of Heroes.

Visuals:

The visuals are not what I consider "eye candy", but they do not get in the way of your gameplay. If you have a fairly powerful machine you can set the graphics to high and it will have a very nice effect.

Sound:

Special effects a very nice. Specially the voice acting of your units for the issued commands.

Gameplay:

Like Company of Heroes, resource gathering is done by capturing territories and micromanaging your units.

What's good:

Refreshing gameplay. Delivers good gameplay without sacrificing machine resources.

What's bad:

Territory capture may not appeal to everyone.

Conclusion:

It is a great game to have. I f you liked company of heroes this game is for you. If you hate it when your units do not talk when you issue a command(think rise of nations) then pick up this game.

Warhammer 40k Dawn of War Gold review

Warhammer is one the best table top strategy games, and usually the jump from table to computer isn't easy. But not for this series! The game focuses on the Blood Raven company and its quest for alien genocide.

What makes this game awesome? Well:

4 Races: Space Marines, Eldar, Chaos, and Orks.

Tons of strategic elements.

Great graphics and sound.

Plus, you get the expansion and access to the great online multiplayer. So why not get it?
