The ”Old Vic” DLC overhauls the interface graphics of Victoria 2, aiming to add an overall depth with a wooden “old-victorian-office” feel. Immersion is the keyword, and some interface innovations are also added. For instance you will now see factory buildings being built over a wooden skeleton, with scaffolding being removed when it’s done. The amount of smoke in the chimney indicates activity, and a closed factory is overgrown and abandoned. New unit images, loading screens and more all add to the overall feel.

Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
This graphics pack adds some flare to the in-game interface while also adding new loading screens and a new menu screen.
However, it is hardly an improvement and I actually find the default graphics/interface to be more attractive. Look carefully at the screenshots and compare them to the vanilla game to see which you prefer - it's merely a matter of taste.
Note that if you purchase this DLC you will need to register your game and download the compatibility patch if you wish to patch the game past 1.2.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
Quick and brief recommendation: May it be, because it is not causing any problems and improving visual conception of Victoria 2 Steam/Industrial theme.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
While the new interface looks good, it doesn't really add something to the game. And when I tried to install it it corrupted my game, it didn't start anymore. In the end I had to re install.
So unless you really want to have a other interface I wouldn't bother with this pack, let alone for 2 euro's.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
I would not recommend buying this DLC. For one, I think the artwork is sub par, and worse than the original. Second, it has massive bugs with almost all Vicky 2 mods, and even recent Paradox patches. I love all the sprite DLC, and I love Devildreads work (I think he's the guy that made this DLC), but I honestly need to recommend people taking a pass on this one.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
This is a decent DLC pack that changes the loading screens for Vic II. Although you can grab better ones through the forums these aren't half bad, however at the price of 1.99 you really cant go too wrong with picking this up and installing it. not bad work for what you pay for.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
This DLC, although perhaps not for the casual fan of Victoria 2, provides an appreciable new look to the game. While there is no effect on gameplay, there is certainly a new - more refined- "feel" to it.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
This DLC does not effect game play but adds some very nice style, there wasn't anything wrong with the old style but it is still nice. Some users are having problems with this DLC but the fixes on the forums seem to fix most/all major crashes and alinement problems.
Useful to some; Buggy
So many users are having problems, and I can't even launch my game after installing this. As far as I have seen, the granulated wood look is low quality and unremarkable. The original theme of Victoria 2 is smooth and clean, but this mod just makes it look stuffy; as if the editor's interpretation of the 1836-1936 era comes from what they've seen of antique desks.
I have seen screenshots showing this mod adds extra buttons to the interface, which I'm sure are useful. Sadly, the modder who was hired to make this expansion has had little time to work on it, they've been busing him around to other projects. There have been several mods mades that fix the problems associated with this mod on the Paradox Interactive support forum, so register your Victoria 2 and go there if you have problems.
I would not recommend installing if you are in the middle of a game, because you might need to re-install all over again.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
This is a very nice looking overhaul of the UI. Everything looks more polished and atmospheric. I would have given it 5 stars were it not for the loading screens that don't meet my taste.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
Although this DLC causes a few glitches, all of them can be fixed with patches. it adds a little flavour to the game but I wouldn't intentionally buy it. It's only worthwhile having as part of a bundle.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
With the exception of a few release-bugs that can be fixed with some hot-fixes from their website, this pack add some nice textures for the interface and it also gives extra information in the economy tab as well as for some other tabs. This DLC is purely cosmetic, but it's well worth it at the low price.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
This DLC is one of the best I've ever seen for a PC game. It's not essential but it adds so much flavor and beautiful features to the interface. Try it and you don't want to miss it again in any of your Vicky II games.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
Very nice addition. The atmosphere is much better than before. I think it's one of the best DLC ever made.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
This DLC pack brings back some of the charm from Victoria to its sequel. While it seems like a really minor update at first, the overall feel is that it makes the game far more polished and after playing with it for a while you can't go back. Definitely worth getting.
Victoria 2 Old Vic DLC review
I have mixed feelings about this pack. While I do love the changes made to the factory animations I feel several of the artwork scenes look unfinished. Instead of the look of an old painting there are now several screens with '3D rendered' people and objects. I may have to replace some of the loading screens with the originals and keep the newer "in game" items.
