Rating: 3.3 (25 votes cast)

The story of Twin Sector takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where the remains of mankind have been put to artificial sleep in cryogenic chambers deep under the contaminated surface of earth – until the planet becomes habitable again. You as the player must take the role of Ashley Simms, the protagonist of Twin Sector. Suddenly awakened by the stations security A.I. system O.S.C.A.R., you face the imminent ex-tinction of all other still sleeping survivors due to an unknown failure in the life sup-port system. According to O.S.C.A.R., you are the only person who was able to be woken and therefore the only individual capable of saving mankind. Within the next ten hours you will need to repair the broken main generator of the subterranean bunker system in order to reestablish the station’s functionality. But there are yet un-known forces trying to prevent you from succeeding at all costs!

Twin Sector is a thrilling physics-based action-adventure which allows players free interaction with their environment. Using the advantages of the powerful HAVOC®-Engine, innumerable puzzles, challenges and enemies await the players in a hostile and threatening futuristic environment. Featuring more than 15 missions alongside a thrilling story line unfolding over the course of action, Twin Sector appeals to all core gamers worldwide.

Really enjoyed this game, it's very refreshing to have an alternative to running and shooting. I loved the storyline and atmosphere and the challenging levels were just the right balance. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a game with a different game play than normal.

Graphically this game does fine. The explosions and fire effects are good. The colors are bland but it’s fitting for the backdrop of this game. This isn’t exactly a cheery Mario world here. The loading screen background shows the main character in great detail. She looks very life like and has a lot of detail including her eyes and hair.

The sound department is a mixed bag. Ashley’s voice actress was good but OSCAR’s voice wasn’t very convincing. The background music is suspenseful and fits this game well. The sound effects and explosions were spot on.

I didn’t experience any crashes or stability issues but I do have a gripe about the controls. Visibly there’s not much difference between the standing and crouching point of view. For a while I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t jump. It was because my character was in a crouch position.

If you’re looking for a fun physics based adventure game, don’t bother with Twin Sector. Get Portal instead. Twin Sector sells for $30 and thankfully there’s a demo so you can try it before spending any money.

I'm really glad I bought this game, this is one of those games that I just bought on impulse without doing some research first. But it turned out that the game is nice! Although the game mechanics isn't really brand new, puzzles, adventures, physics-based interaction, at least they made one. Its like after you finished a game of such genre, you'd wish another game would pop just like it, perhaps this is one of those answers, they made one and I'm glad they did. The story is ok, predictable but not bad. The voice acting is a little bit dull though, but I can live with it. Graphics-wise, its great, of course as expected for using HAVOC engine. Sound is great as well.

I rated it at 5 since I'm a sucker for these types of genre, but I'm not really implying that you buy it. Buy it only if you are a fan of these types of genre. Watch the trailers first and download the demo. That's what I did, I downloaded the demo and liked it so I bought it. Although the demo is buggy, don't worry about the final release, it is much better than the demo.
