TriO: The Great Settlement review

By Faithful posted 10th June 2010

TriO: The Great Settlement is a very light casual game that is easy to play, and quite easy to win. The entire game lasts about 2+ hours. It is a simple, fun game that is based on dropping three of the same color boxes (which hold the Orbics) in close proximity to one another. That is for all intents the entire game in a nutshell.

There is a settlement building portion to the game but it is clearly an after thought, and has no real bearing on the game what-so-ever. You build houses and other buildings, but you never gain enough money or have enough time to really develop the two settlements you build in the game.

You also gain trophies but they like the settlement portion mean nothing and have zero influence on the game itself.

In the end I enjoyed the game as a lighthearted diversion for a couple of hours, but the price would be better at the $3.00 mark.

If you are looking for very simple game play that is fun but not overly addictive then TriO: The Great Settlement may fit the bill very well. If you do not expect too much in way of game play, longevity, or storyline; you can sit back, click away, and drop your Orbics' into 3-fold connections and have a bit of fun in the process.
