The producers of Syberia I and Syberia II are proud to present Still Life. Victoria McPherson, is a brilliant young FBI agent who's investigating a serial murder case. The body count is now at five and with the lack of real leads and a moutain of circumstantial evidence, Victoria is beginning to show signs of fatigue and stress. She decides to take a break and go rest at her father's home in suburban Chicago; after all, it is close to the Christmas holidays. However, Victoria does not find rest. Instead, she finds one of her grandfather's old case files and begins to read. Oddly enough, Victoria's present case resembles the one from the past, right down to the killer's MO...

  • Enthralling storyline in amazingly detailled environments!
  • Riche and intriguing characters.
  • Breathtaking cinematics.
  • An investigation on the very same places where horrible cimes of serial killer occur.

Very gripping storyline and excellent graphics/cutscenes though animation was dated. Gameplay went very smoothly without a walkthrough with the notable exception of the bombsquad room. I'm just not that patient and feel guilty about destroying so many expensive little probes.

I was disappointed with the cliff-hanger ending, but will prolly end up playing Still Life 2 anyway. Voice-acting was very good, music was suitably creepy, and it was just hard to put down.

Really enjoyed this game, it has a great storyline to follow good puzzles. A little tricky to find hotspots sometimes but a great graphic horror adventure game

I haven't finished the game yet but I can definitely say this is a good one. The graphics are great, the story is good, the puzzles are nice.

The only thing I didn't like about this game so far is that it alternately moves between two different characters and two different investigation stories. One takes place in the present, while the other took place in the past. Honestly I think it's unnecessary and annoying. I wouldn't mind if it was two seperate games packed together but I don't like how they interrupt each other.

Overall, it's a good enough game.

This one has an well made and enjoyable storyline, about cases of serial murders in two different time-frames, with plenty of twists, that kept the game intriguing till the end. The in-game characters are interesting, with some decent voice acting performances, too.

Apart from some of character models looking a bit awkward, the graphical side of things which consists of pre-rendered backdrops and videos is of high-quality and mood-setting, as is the music.

Most of the puzzles in the game are interesting and provide a nice challenge. But few of them are just unnecessarily hard, due to a lack of logic and therefore becoming an overly complicated guessing-games.

Some people refer to this game as a work of art, and frankly.. it is.

there's no denying the atmosphere this game places upon the player with interesting enviorments, well written characters and an incredibly well placed story.

The conclusion of the game leaves you wanting, with 1 of the 2 branching ending on a bit of a cliffhanger. The other branch ending is one of the most intense endings I've yet to experience in a game.

This is one of the most gripping adventure games in recent memories and should be experienced by any fans of point and clickers.

An entertaining game that really challenges you.

Be prepared to have a walkthrough ready if you're not ready to dedicate hours upon hours of your time trying to work-out the brain-stakingly hard puzzles.

I recommend getting this game for the interesting story with a creepy twist to it.

A really good game and a classic in the genre. Some of the murder scenes may not be liked though if you're particulary squeamish, People who enjoy crimes crimes and adventure games should certainly give the game a go. It's worth noting that while you don't need to play Post Mortem first, it's the first game in the series and Still Life features the same character from it.

The only downside with Still Life is that the ending will perhaps feel rushed with the sequel unveiling the identity of the killer. Of course, you may have a good idea of who's done the killings without needing to play the sequel.

Still-Life was a brilliant gaming experience. The story was gripping to the end and I loved the tense atmosphere it managed to build up. The puzzles were all logical (yes even the baking one!) and had a good mix of difficulty. The voice acting was of a very high standard and I thought that the characters were reasonably well developed. I will definitely be buying the second installment!

I just finished the game and I loved it! I read some negative reviews and was kind of skeptical (especially about the gingerbread puzzle), but the game exceeded my expectations. I actually didn't think the gingerbread puzzle was bad. It made sense to me and I actually got it right it on the first try. I loved how it was so intuitive, like it understood what you were trying to do and not waiting for you to point at some tiny spot on the screen in order to use an object. It looks beautiful and it's really well-made. The story line is interesting and the voice acting is pretty nice. I can't even think of any negative things to say. Well, ok, the ending did feel rushed and incomplete, but I was ready for it after reading the reviews, so I wasn't disappointed. Overall a very nice game with great controls, interface, imagery, and puzzles (although I wish it was a little more challenging). Just overall great game. I wish there were more like it.

Pros: Interesting story, including 1920's Prague and Modern NYC, a good villain, and great art and atmosphere.

Cons: Archaic interface that seems like it belongs in a game from 1995, ridiculously difficult puzzles that should have no bearing on the story (who knew making ginger bread cookies could be so difficult?) I ended up following walkthroughs for most of them.

Conclusion: Good deal if you like puzzle games and get the version that's bundled with another game. 3/5.

One of the most underrated adventure games ever released. Extremely good story, acting and producing. Can't wait for Still Life 2 to hit the shelves on April 14th 2009!
