Streets of Rage 2 review

The best of the three. With more polished graphics, more characters to choose, diverse stages, ingenious introductions of thugs, good controls, and carefully dosed difficulty, it takes what is good in the first Street of Rage and pushes forward. The third action button, used to clean the screen of all adversaries in SoR, is used for special attacks depleting the life bar, but the game is easier, if more enjoyable, that the first. The best Streets of Rage, and a great beat-em-all by itself.

A really fun beat-em'up for Megadrive/Genesis; Streets of Rage 2 is simple to learn and loads of fun. Although rather repetitive (what beat em'up isn't?) very enjoyable, especially in co-op mode. It might not be as refined as Final Fight, but still one heck of a game; certainly one of the best on Megadrive.

I have been playing this game for a while on my PS3 and got this game gifted from a friend of mine at GamersGate. It's just a classic 'Golden Oldie' which you got to play if you like fighters.

The gameplay is easy and sometimes the game is (literally) rough around the edges. But when you start this game, it will take a while for you to stop!

Couldn't resist the call from the past. Played this game so much: alone, with my brother and even with my dad. It's one of the defining classics of my life. Not much of a console fan nowadays, but dear god, I'm gonna get a gamepad just to play this again!

The follow up to Streets of Rage, SoR2 brings more of the same smash 'em up platform fighting you love to love.

I recommend it to people looking to rebuild collections from yesteryear, or for people who may be a bit too young to remember playing a classic such as this one in the arcade. A very good game.
