Secret Files is a good addition to the adventure genre, with some good puzzles to solve and an enjoyable storyline. But it's not a game without its faults.

Both the graphics and the voice acting are good on the whole. But don't expect to be blown away. After all it's obvious that it's translated from German.Some things are translated in a functional, but unusual way and the cut scenes with the maps use German names for places.

There's also the fact that the game lacks the sense of direction that a lot of its peers manage to achieve. The puzzles aren't difficult and are usually enjoyable. It's just that often you know what you're doing before you have the faintest clue as to why. I think that this is in part due to the fact that your character rarely chimes in with hints as to what they want to achieve.

So yeah, it's a good game and one worth getting. But you'll probably need a walkthrough at a couple of points in the game to avoid getting too frustrated with it.

this game is well worth the price, good graphics, a good story and well thought out story line. Obviously a lot of thought went into the puzzles and they are fun to solve, the difficulty is about average

The graphics are gorgeous and the production values are very high, along with the ability to skip conversations, exit rooms quickly and highlight clickable areas.

The voice-acting is uneven and I was particularly irritated by an English translation of a German game being done entirely in US English and US accents. The puzzles themselves range from trivial to tough to "oh my God, what *are* they thinking?".

Otherwise, the game is certainly one to play if you value old-school point-and-clicks.

If you are looking for a game with good plot, challenging enigmas and nice graphics, you have to buy this game.
