It's a really good game. It's like the Supreme Ruler series, but the strict turn-based way of playing is a lot better for me at least. I don't panic thinking I'm running out of time.

Some good ideas in this game. In NO way is it a simulation. It's a very pared down, streamlined, turn-based version of games like "Supreme Ruler 2020".

You have some very basic production/infrastructure aspects, where you must build units, improvements to territories under your control, etc. You maneuver units over a hexagonally laid out map of Europe, as part of your own strategic plan and in order to fulfill certain missions ("Move a spy to Frankfurt") that are generated for you by the game.

When hostilities begin, and you move a force into a hex controlled by an adversary, it begins a "tactical" battle scenario, where you must maneuver your units to destroy the enemy's units, capture control points, etc.

All in all, not terribly implemented, but I found the controls to be very awkward. Certain inputs are used only in certain contexts, and I had a hard time remembering when I could do what. I did not find the tutorials particularly helpful. Graphics are okay, but far from "top of the line" for current games of this genre. The voice acting for the English edition seemed to have been done by non-native English speakers - it varied from awkward to hilarious.

The controls ultimately made me uninstall it and move on, but perhaps not all will perceive it this way. At the knocked down sale price, it could definitely be worth a try.

Anyone who has experience with voluminous games of grand historical strategy, such as Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron, and Victoria, will immediately know what Storm has in store for you. The main difference here is the time frame. Where those games deal with history, Storm: Frontline Nation deals with the very near future. It is January of 2012, immediately following a war that has caused oil exports from the Middle East to be virtually shut down. As a result, economies have collapsed, and big players in the USA, UK, France, Russia, and Germany are fighting over the scraps, namely oil resources in places like the North Sea and North Africa. The story campaign takes place in Europe and North Africa, where you take control of one of the big five nations noted above and deal with hundreds of conquerable provinces and cities. Victory conditions involve everything from building up an army, to sending a spy to steal research from an enemy capital, to simply building facilities like naval bases.

A good concept game with potentiable armies and verry intrigante the spec ops chapter however the diplomatic tool it's not so well done also the IA of the opponents doesn't follow some strategies and don't cross the seas so if you play with england you should be quite well shelltered
