Players will wage war by creating enormous customizable armies and experimental war machines that can change the balance of power at any given moment. Where do your loyalties lie?

  • A deep and powerful story - element adds a personal, human aspect to a storyline previously focused on warring factions and the politics that fuel them. The single player campaign features three character-driven storylines set 25 years after the events of Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

  • New rendering technology that allows us to create visually spectacular environments

Very decent RTS game. Sadly, in the past couple of years the RTS market hasn't seen many releases, but this game makes up for that - you can zoom out very far and you can command giant armies (even though there is a unit cap of 250 enemies - the only real negative point to the game) and the economy-system has been simplefied a lot since the last game in the series. I makes a lot of fun building giant armies and seeing the collide on the battlefield, especially if you play online or coop with a friend. It may not be the best RTS game of all time, but it is a very decent one.

Sup Com 2 is more of a lite version of the first game than a sequel, but it's still enjoyable.

I don't see why it is hated that much, but then again I also enjoyed playing the newer C&Cs so you better try the demo first instead of reading reviews.

A Really Good RTS in it's own right. Although different from it's predecessor this game makes significant advances in gameplay from the original supreme commander game. Overall this game is well worth the money!

This game is awesome and fun to play with friend or against freind but either way i recommend it. It is that fun cause of the work you have to make to do well. The steamworks helps freinds join. It is fun RTS and i recommend it.

A fantastic mass scale strategy game, each units is interesting, each building is crafted in a special way, each faction is different from the other, no common or similar units, The campaign's story appears to fail sometimes in delivering a decent story but most of time it does offer fun and diversity. This game is a masterpiece that is worthy of playing, especially by RTS fans.

A fun RTS if you want to play a more arcade version of the original Supreme Commander. You're better off seeing supreme commander 1 and supreme commander 2 as two completely different RTS's. It's a lot of fun, but don't expect the complexity of the first game.

Decent game especially for the low price I brought it for, but you soon lose interest. Played for about 8 hours, so it cost me a pound an hour, thats ok but unlikely to play again.

SC2 is a RTS game that is different from the rest of the pack in its epic scale. Alright, it's not as big as the original Supreme Commander, but compared to others of its genre, the scale is still pretty impressive. As a result of the smaller size, the game is faster than before.

It's a fun game with a nice campaign. If you enjoy RTS games then this is a must.

A worthy if somewhat different sequel to the original game. This game got a lot of undeserved flak from many people yet it's a fine RTS in its own right. Biggest problem for people seemed to be the smaller scale of the combat, its increased pace and streamlining. Yes it is different slightly from the original but that just makes it a new experience rather than having the same thing rehashed over and over. A lot of people did complain about the slow pace of the original and their complaints were answered by a Sup Com game that doesn't take half an hour before you fight your first major battle. I love the originals, but even I sometimes want a quicker and more manageable game and this delivers. Graphics and performance are still top notch and with that style that will make this game still look and play good 10 years from now. Interface is easy, there are just as many options and strategies as in the original games though they do favor more aggressive play. The new research feature is a nice addition and adds extra depth though it's not on a par with the great Earth 2150. If you prefer the slower paced nature of the originals, you should still give this a try but if you are a C&C style of RTS fan then you can't go wrong with this!

It's a rather typical RTS game like C&C, Starcraft. The previous games in the series built up its characteristic and reputation by providing a HUGE battle field and HUGE number of units. I SupCom 2, the battle field is a bit smaller, but still really large, and you still get tons of units to command. The races are quite well balanced. Although it has not improved much from the previous titles, it is still a great game on its own.

Absolutely great game, defining its own type in RTS genre. If you are a strategist and you have still doubt if this game will be great or money lose don't doubt anymore! I played about 20 hours campaign where three races Cybrans, UEF and Illuminates are introduced and I can't say anything else then ... FANTASTIC! You start with handful of units but you can end up with building up whole cities from buildings and units. Great research system to unlock super powerful units and resource collecting where you can scavenge enemy derelict vehicles as well as your own! Number of units is limited to 300 but it's no problem since every unit is counted as 1 so even very powerful flying units like fortresses or supercarriers or...well discover yourself! Also you can activate it on Steam! No brainer here.

This game is similar to Total Annihilation with updated graphics. The game-play is similar in that you need to build up a base, and create units to send against the AI forces. One big difference is that in Supreme Commander 2 you cannot give orders while the game is paused. That is a feature I used quite often, and found it strange they would not use it here. Overall it is a good game, and ran well on my machine.

This game falls in a strange place in the grand scheme of things. It's too different to the first game to be judged as a sequel and too similar to be judged as anything else.

Judged on its own merits, it's a solid and even enjoyable RTS that's ultimately too unremarkable and with too many small flaws that prevent it from reaching above "average".

Judged as a sequel to Supreme Commander, it lost much of what made the first game so interesting, namely the sense of scale and the economy system, to be worth recommending to fans of that one. It can be described, at best, as Supreme Commander Lite, and at worst as a cheap knock-off.

Might be worth picking up for cheap on a lazy weekend, and you may end up enjoying it past that, but there are better games on either side of it.

This is an absolutely brilliant game! i was hesitant to buy it for a long time because it is INCREDIBLY robust and complex, so people new to the genre may have a hard time. it has beautiful graphics and more features than i really know what to do with, in particular i like that you can upgrade units and send them on a patrol pattern (they follow lines you make).

for the price you really cant go wrong with one of the best games in the genre.

An army of hundreds of heavily armed robots advance on your position. Your shields are up, perimeter defenses are guarding your resource generators, and production facilities pump out a steady stream of units. Under your energy shields, artillery, anti-air vehicles, and tanks wait to push back the attack, but your radar intel indicates the encroaching combined forces of the enemy may sweep you right out of existence. Then from your experimental production facility emerges a towering assault robot capable of absorbing enemy fire while pulverizing the opposition with devastating cannons.

Supreme Commander 2 is a great rts. But it is severely lacking in comparison to its predecessor. It features varied factions and impressive experimental units. But it is completely overshadowed by Supreme Commander 1. If it had no Supreme Commander 1, Supcom2 would be far more impressive. But compared to the first, it just cannot compete. The first was more varied, more complex and exciting. While Supcom 2 is a good rts, it isnt the unique experience that Supcom 1 was.

Supreme Commander 2 is a very in depth RTS with amazing graphics. While the single player is not nearly as long as its predecessor, it still offers a good length especially if you can pick it up during a sale like I did. Multiplayer is quite dead though, so unless you have friends which play the game, or are going to also purchase it, do not buy it for the multiplayer alone.

Different from SC1. SC1 is for the more hardcore RTS games, it's more strategic and feels more like that. SC2 is quicker, less defensive and easier i feel.

SC1 has more units, and different tiers, here you have the upgrades to do that for you instead of buying new units, so in this (SC2) your start units wont get useless like in 1.

However as a game by itself this is a great game, the graphics look great, the battles feel really good and the upgrade system is nice.

Conclusion, SC2 is a great game but don't expect a newer SC1 because it isn't really. Still this is a great game and worth the money

Supreme Commander 2 is a broad and bold real-time strategy game that might surprise fans of the 2007 original. Don't worry: If you loved Supreme Commander, the sequel still offers the tactical flexibility and enormous scope you were expecting, albeit tempered by a bit of economic streamlining. But SupCom 2's not just a retread of what's come before; it's a slick retooling of classic gameplay that happily and successfully embraces both complexity and user friendliness. This is an inviting package for both veterans and newcomers--intricate enough to keep your mind nimble but welcoming even to those daunted by the original's magnitude. Most importantly, it's great fun, letting you play with a variety of interesting units and giving you lots of room to experiment with all the tactical possibilities. The strategic joy doesn't go unhindered; pathfinding headaches and predictable AI keep Supreme Commander 2 from having the sharp cerebral edge of its predecessor. Yet, while not quite as special as its fantastic forebear, it still stands out for its fluid gameplay, excellent multiplayer maps, and the thrill of emerging victorious after an hour-long battle of wits.

Forget Supreme Commander 1. This game goes an entirely different direction, and not in a bad way. It's an entirely different game from the first one, but can stand on its own as an excellent game.
