amazingly good looking game. The crosshair is a little on the big side but you get used to it. The game has a bit of a harsh start in that you die.....alot. Voice acting isnt amazing but its not bad. The game is good for a laugh so if thats what your looking for this is for you

Sleek design mixed with powerful effects and cheap price make this a must-buy game if you wish for something to just sit back and play. Almost non-existant story, however, and the voiceovers are non-passé but these aspects detract very little from the overall experience.

Fast paced twin stick shooter action! Amazing game from indie developers and actually got me into the genre. Only downfall is I cant play it completely smooth on my Laptop which is a bit of a shame, but it doesn't deter me at all. Great game, great price, lots of content. What more can you ask for? Oh, one more thing, you WILL die in this game! :D

Excellent shmup that gets your adrenaline pumping in the most hectic moments, and the satisfaction of surviving is enormous. It's a good arcade style game that still receives major content updates to this day (and for free!) and is a lot of fun to pick up once in a while. It becomes harder and harder as you progress and most deaths aren't unfair, you died because you screwed up, not because of some glitch or awkward controls. I can see myself playing this game for a long time, trying to get a better score again and again.

Fantastic game-play, awesome soundtrack and a really cool graphic design, surely worth the money. The only drawback to this game the fine-tuning and final polish. Don't get me wrong, the game is well designed and clearly well made, but I can't help but feel that it is missing that extra little touch that keep it from getting a perfect score.

This is a really cool "dual stick" shooter, where you have to get as many points as possible and there's even more game modes which ups the playability, you can upgrade your ship and such.

I heartly recommend this game if you're into some brain-dead fun time killing game!

Arcadey action using a randomization generator just adds to the fun. Progression, heavy doses of wit, and a lot of flashy lights make this a beautiful and stellar (haha) title. The other modes could use a bit of progression though, I found myself only playing the other modes as a breather for classic rather than a true alternate game mode. Otherwise, great twin-stick title!

Really Awesome!

A pretty awesome game for the prize. There are some game modes, that do change the pace of the game, and also Multiplayer support via Mouse + Gamepad, Although I can't get this working (I tried two Gamepads, and they didn't work).

A long-term progression is implemented with Achievements and Upgrades.

Extremely addictive

This game is very hard to put down.

In essence it is a horizontal scrolling space shooter, similar to classic games such as R-Type and Gradius, except that it uses a twin-stick control mechanic, and also tasks the player with drilling through massive planets that fill the entire screen. The game randomly generates the enemies, massive bosses and other obstacles that you face, so you never confront them in a orderly fashion. The upshot of this is that the game manages to keep the player on their toes, and keeps them from becoming complacent.

The other main hook of the game's main mode is the shop. Death is inevitable, but when you die you are taken to a shop that allows you to improve your little ship, and allow it to make it's way further into the game.

The experience is enhanced with great music, and sardonic commentary from a snide "narrator" with an English Estuary accent, though he has a very limited amount of lines that he spouts off to the player.

This game comes recommended for those who are bored with simple twin-stick arena shooters, and want something different to play with, again and again.

I already reviewed the first game "Big Sky" here. As i said, it has potential but it's not a good game, mostly because it is very punishing.

Really Big Sky is pretty much the same game, different title but same game - those extra game modes don't really affect the gameplay. So it's pretty but again, too punishing. All my playthroughs lasted for less than 5 minutes.

A nice side scrolling shoot em up, especially for the visuals.

It's simple but efficient. I wouldn't spend hours playing it, but it is perfect for 15 minutes sessions.

The content is procedurally generated, which means that you'll be less likely to get bored after playing it a few times.

I definetely recommend it!

Really Awesome Sky

Really Big Sky is a mind melting horizontally scrolling shoot-em-up but without any scenery (bar the huge meteors that you will be unable to miss). This may make it sound boring but far from it. The randomly generated waves of baddies that come at you, the gigantic bosses, the general weirdness of it all, all blends into an amazing experience.

Multiple game modes, achievements to unlock, power ups for the ship that you slowly buy over repeated play, plus an ever increasing (although small) selection of music makes this a bargain.

I REALLY love Really Big Sky. Usually I'm not totally into this type of shooting game, but the randomness and colors really draw me to this game! It's SO much fun o.o. The music gets me pumped, and the announcer is really amusing. Luckily he doesn't comment too much for it to be annoying. The levels are always random and the different modes offer so much to the game. Classic mode by itself offers a lot of replayability, but then like...8 more modes? It's insane! At this price, it really is a bargain. I would pay at least 15 dollars for this game, at minimum~

Really Big Sky is a great improvement on the original Big Sky. I had so much technical difficulties with the previous one I just quit trying to play it despite the game being pretty entertaining.

With Really Big Sky though, everything now works flawlessly. Add to the mix a great choice of modes and unlockable things and you have a pretty solid title for the price.

The only ommission I can think of are key mappings which can't be changed and lack of variety in the soundtrack, but the single track does sound really, really good.

A very fun shooter with more content than most indie shoot em ups. gameplay consists of playing, dying, getting better upgrades, learning boss strategies and getting a bit further with every life. the game is great great value with all of the different game modes and leveling system

in short a very addictive shoot em up.

Plenty of fun content for your bucks

By Trolez posted 10th August 2011

This game feels much like your standard space shooter with a twist. The goal isn't to win the game, but to get as far as possible. You collect points which you can use to upgrade your ship, making it possible to advance a little further into deep space. There's a lot of upgrades and getting them all should take a while.

The game also features achievements and additional modes, which are unlocked as you play the game.

This game comes at a bargain, and you definitely get something for your money.

Really Big Sky is the definition of what an indie shooter should be--fantastic, colorful visuals and extremely fast paced action. Every playthough is different, as the AI adjusts to your behaviors, enemies and planets are placed randomly, and so on. This game is a bargain compared to the asking price in terms of quality and play time.

Really Big Sky is in all honesty tied with "Zeno Clash" as my favorite indie game. It is among my top 10 favorite games period! The shmup mechanics at work should appeal to players of "Warning Forever", "Geometry Wars" and "Progear". Wonderful aesthetic, catchy soundtracks, and reaction time dependent scenarios all come together to form Boss Baddie's Masterpiece.
