Prison Tycoon 4: SuperMax

Rating: 2.5 (30 votes cast)

Hard Time is Money Build a profitable privately run prison from the ground up. Every wall, every fence, every decision is yours. Start small and forge your reputation as a first rate warden. Grow your facility to SuperMax capabilities, housing the most dangerous and diabolical criminals on earth – all for the bottom line.

  • If you build it… Manage the layout, construction, and equipping of your lockdown. Every choice determines the safety and respectability of your prison.
  • Us vs Them – Staff your prison from guards to rehabilitation experts. Your decisions and budgets govern your team’s morale and overall performance.
  • Break ‘em Down - Manage the security levels throughout your prison. Too strong a grip can explode in prisoner riots – too weak and the gangs will run your stir.
  • Bad to the Bone! Lock up the worst of the worst in the NEW Restricted Access Quarters for 23 hours a day with 1 hour for outside exercise.
  • Someone’s Gotta Pay! Build prisoner factories to bring in some extra income to help keep the prisons finances healthy.
  • Be the Big Boss! Determine your prisoner’s fate – release your prisoner on parole or keep them locked up for the safety of society (and your pocketbook)
  • Control or Be Controlled! Keep the peace among the prison gangs or one may take over certain areas of the prison as their own.

Prison Tycoon 4: SuperMax review

pretty fun game, thos looking for fast action are gonna be dissappointed, but those looking for a casual, relaxed fun game are gonna find this game pretty good.

there are a few flaws, one of them is the lack of building space. so plan ahead if you want to last long building.

all in all i give this game a 7 out of 10.

For a game with such a great premise, I was surprised at the poor execution. There is little to no explanation of how to play the game, what your goals are, or the mechanics of gameplay. So much has to be guessed and assumed, that one can easily waste a couple of hours just experimenting to see what effects certain decisions have. Additionally, the controls are clunky and generally speaking it is hard to navigate the data needed to run a large prison, as everything must be micromanaged. I would not recommend this game to anyone, even if it were free.

The idea of the game is very nice and its kind of fun to play too. However, it could of been much better if it has better graphics and more options to control the guards and prisoners. The game needs better intelligence interface and much better graphics. The game is still fun to play since you can run your prison and do missions. You as the jail warden deside who can be released on parole and who cant. In summary the game is good but could of been a best seller if it has way much graphics and in game options.

When compare to Prison Tycoon 3, I totally disappoint for this sequel. The micro-management of prisoner is full of bug and to be fixed. Even the time slot for the working time of prisoner are wrong. But I never see any fix since I bought the year for 6 months.

I purchased this game thinking it would be a fun way to whittle away a few hours while I was flying, but the purchase completely backfired on me. The game was very buggy and not really that interesting. I also found it kinda hard to get started. Once I got into it, the gameplay was mediocre and I was soon bored with the game. I would recommend looking elsewhere for Sim fun.

This is a game that could be really good, if it weren't quite so frustratingly buggy. It's not a nice game: the prison authorities don't seem to care what the maximum population of your prison is, they'll just keep sending you people and expect you to find ways to cope. I don't have a problem with that. I do have a problem with bugs making the game becoming unplayable if you pause it just when a prisoner escapes (and if you ever wanted to pause a game, isn't that the moment when you'd do it?)

I don't have a problem with guards who refuse to stop an escape because they're on a break, but why do they let me order them to do so many other things while on a break (and why do they take their breaks in places where they're surrounded by prisoners?) This is almost a really good game. But it's not.

This game is rather difficult.

The game play it self is quite easy, you run a prison.

You need staff and facilities to house, feed and provide work, recreation and health care for the inmates.

what is difficult and a little frustrating is that you have to manually set work hours for your staff and inmates. The list don't help you remember everyone you already assigned a schedule for.

Also the game run very slow, seems one in game minute is 2 seconds. so it takes some time before any thing happens.
