Plain Sight review

This is a unique action game by an indie company which achieves what it set out to do. To provide quick entertainment and unique game play.

The premise is simple. Your a ninja robot out to get all the other ninja robots. You do this by jumping round the visually attractive landscapes (they are all in 3d and have gravity so you can jump all the way around them) and when you have an enemy in your sights you press the attack button.

Once you have enough kills you commit suicide effectively banking the kills and therefore the score associated with them.

You can also upgrade your robot after each death with varying upgrades.

Even with out the competition, just jumping around the landscapes is quite fun. Its not particularly indepth so you might not spend long periods of time on the game but quick matches now and then is great fun.

I highly reccomend this one.

Plain Sight is an action-focused multiplayer game. It's very unique, but feels somewhat like a high-speed platformer. The visual style has a unique charm to it. It's very simple but stylish. The gameplay is based on charging attacks, dodging at the right time and maneuvering through the changing gravitation of the levels (which are somewhat small multiplayer maps). The trade-off is that you must blow yourself up (before being killed) to receive the points you've collected by killing others.

Each platform pulls you to its gravitational center, similar to Super Mario Galaxy, so you can walk around them like a small planet. That can probably confuse or disorient some people, but if you're used to first person shooters, you should be fine. The game demands some level of good reflexes to hold your own against online players. You must use the mouse and keyboard to quickly look and move around the levels. You can upgrade your robot to give yourself an edge, and it will take practice to get good at the game. There are also several modes that will give some variation to the gameplay.

For the low price, it's definitely worth trying out. If you like experimental, indie games, and very fast-paced, competitive games, it's a great buy. And it's definitely fun to play every now and then if you crave some arcade-y action.

Brilliant game.

The game is so fast and crazy, anyone wtaching you play will think your a master from day one, just because they can't tell whats going on, the second you start playing however, the tutorial and a couple bot battles get you to that stage immediatly, making this game a great crowd pleaser, and very fun to play!

It's a weird game, and one that is, perhaps, not at all suited for Mouse + Keyboard controls, since the camera is a bit jumpy and the view is weird.

But is overall a somewhat unique experience. With gravity-bending mechanics like those found originally on Super Mario Galaxy, and the crazy fun jumping and killing-spree awesomeness set by Crackdown. Simply an awesome combination with a lot of future as a franchise.

I bought this game expecting it to be some shallow fun I can play when I need a break from the more competitive games. that was a mistake...

This game is incredibly fun, but calling it casual would be very wrong. It takes a very 'different' kind of skillset to most other games but it certainly takes some skill.

however that is not to say that the game is not absolute and other chaos, but you'll love it for that

Plain Sight is a snazzy little gravity based game. Overall, it has the potential for hours of gameplay, but lacks greater depth.

The basic concept of the game is to jump, dash, and to a much lesser extent, run around a round map, sneaking up on your foes and dashing in to kill them. In order to rack up points, the player explodes and converts the kills he had that life to points

The game's graphics are basic, and non-taxing to those with outdated computers, but this does not detract from the overall gameplay.

The maps are varied, but monochrome, and an overall lack of color makes the world feel less appealing than it could be.

The biggest issue with the game is that it revolves around a lot of frantic jumping, and unpredictable dashing, and those who can stomach the constant camera changes often wind up on top of the score board. The gameplay, while fun, seems to be surface deep, and is ultimately decided by who can jump higher and dash faster. Power ups are limited in game, and this is a bit of a disappointment, as more varied and frequent items or power ups could have varied the gameplay more.

There is an upgrade system that seems overly basic, and the interface of the upgrade system could be revamped, as the current screen seems rather empty.

Despite this all, its not a bad game in the least, but just not a spectacular game. It would be nice to see a sequel add more depth and pizazz to the game world.

Score Card

Graphics: 5/10

-Simple, work well for the system requirements, but not jaw dropping.

Sound: 8/10

-Jazzy music, appropriate sound effects.

Gameplay: 4/10

-Great concept, just needs more variety. A more interesting upgrade system, more expansive power-up arsenal, and maybe some "special moves" would have been interesting.

Balance 10/10

-Didn't feel like any tactic or ability gave the player too much of an advantage or opponents a disadvantage.

Concept: 7/10

-Its a fun little casual multiplayer game that makes great use of gravity. The suicide bit adds an interesting twist

Overall: 5/10

-If the game was priced more expensively, I might have graded harder here. It will entertain you long enough to get your money out of it, but won't endear as a classic
