Phantasmat is an above average hidden object game. The graphics are very nice and every scene has little details that bring it to life. The sound is equally nice. The sound effects are sufficient and the sound is creepy and haunting at times.

The story as it unfolds is a rather nice supernatural mystery. But where this game really shines is the gameplay.

Every search picture has a story item and several miscellaneous items to find. And if you can't find the last few items, or if you want to do something else, you can immediately change to a bejeweled-clone to finish the puzzle.

Besides the searching, the game also has some light adventuring with a couple of small puzzles. The puzzles are of the thinking variety and (luckily) not the action kind.

The only flaw I could find is that you spend a lot of time backtracking and looking for the next search-puzzle. All-in-all though it's one of the better games in this genre and highly recommended.
