Post Apocalyptic Mayhem review

This game is amusing in a comical sort of way. There is not much to choose from in the vehicle department, or the racetracks. The fun is really in the smash up that happens all through the race. I still wish some one would make a decent 'car wars' type of game.

This is not your classic car racing game. As one reviewer here it is car war game, and it is pretty good – maybe the best game with cars I have played.

So it's not a simple racing game where you have a simple goal to end first and it's not a game where after few tries you'll always end up first. It's more like a survival car game where you and the others have to survive and get more kills for a limited time.

So you can attack other cars from different sides but the other cars can attack you too. There are three weapons, front, side and back. To activate any of them you need a powerup. So inside the game you'll try to attack the enemy with the weapon you have but he will try to attack you with the weapon he has. Also you'll try to defend by moving to a side of the enemy where he has no powerup.

So this combat, the chasing and escaping can lead to to very interesting and tense situations and to many variations of playing.

It's kind of fun, but too primitive and too little content. Killing others and getting killed is too easy with just one push of a button. Finishing place doesn't seem to matter much, only the number of kills. Still it's fun for some hours and achievements to collect which should be worth the -75% discounted price.

Post Apocalyptic Mayhem review

Post Apocalyptic Mayhem is a car wars game, a crossing between Mad Max and Mario Kart. The objective is simple: overtake and kill (mostly the latter) as many opponents as you can before the time is up. It features easy to learn controls, good graphics and sound, and even a multiplayer mode. Not an AAA title, not very addictive, but it can still be quite fun.

Its main downside is that singleplayer mode is pretty limited: it comes with only 6 cars and 3 tracks (plus other 3 cars and a new circuit with the free DLC you get from Steam). Moreover, the characteristics of the cars are not very well balanced. Finally, multiplayer mode is extremely low populated, to the point that it is almost impossible to find a single opponent.

In summary, this is a technically correct game (with some solvable flaws) that can give you a few hours of post-apocalyptical fun.
