What did I just play?! No Time to Explain review

This game is just insane ( in a good way)and Screaming guy is the best thing ever.

The soundtrack is really awesome aswel. Gameplay is simple yet challanging at times.

This game is hilarious, straight up. It's like if you took a shootemup and put it on the ground and added screaming lunatics and giant enemy crabs. The mechanic where you use a gun to fly around takes some getting used to but it's very unique. The best part is honestly the voice acting of the screaming guy though. You have to see it to believe it. Check this game out, it deserves the attention.

I had no idea what to expect from this game but really enjoyed it. I have never came across a game of this style before. Great story, great level design and overall a great game.

No Time To Explain is a 2D physics platform game. The very start of the game isn't as clear as it could be, as there is no introduction to the controls, even a simple loading screen layout would be enough to show you what to do, instead this has to be found by the player.

You start in a house and you from the future suddenly appears with a laser weapon telling you to follow him, before being kidnapped by a giant crab. As a result you pick up the laser and follow him.

The physics platforming is based around the weapon, if you fire it downwards as you jump, you jump higher and if you keep firing you can glide for short distances. You can also use the same method to direct your flight across the screen. Later you pick up a different laser which kicks you across the screen rather than being a gentle motion, however the routes on the levels do get progressively harder and can sometimes be frustrating trial and error exercises rather than being carefully measured movements, thankfully the checkpoints are generally plentiful and usually in useful positions rather than throwing you to the beginning of the level.

The graphics look like a stylised cartoonish affair and do work quite well for this sort of game. The sound is old school 8bit and is actually really charming and joins together with the stylised graphics to great effect. The sound effects on the other hand, whilst not groundbreaking are clear and amusing, however some of the samples can get repetitive.

On the whole, it's an entertaining indie game, it has it's flaws but it's still fun and worth checking out.

This is insane!

Fast paced, simple and fun.

It's not GOTY but definitively a game i will play from time to time.

Especially the voice acting make me laugh so much.. The guys that made this are utterly crazy!

Great buy!

Funny, easy to learn, hard to master game. It can be quite hard sometimes, but nowhere near Super Meat Boy level of hard. Also great voice acting.

No Time to Explain is a fun little Platformer/Puzzle Game

It is using interesting mechanics and and has a really good sense of humor.

It's a very fun and right-to-the-action game!

I did not know anything about this game, got it thanks to the IGN Prime thing, and really enjoyed it. It is a very simple concept, but with its astonishing music and the smart level designs, it will keep you in front of your computer for a while.

Recommended for everyone.

If you're a fan of these types of games you will like this too. Nice humor, but that's all there was for me. Played it through once and most likely will not touch it again.

An absolutely hilarious game, and although the levels can be quite short, as is the game itself, is definitely an enjoyable experience due to the sheer humour of the game.

Absolutely amazing game, although a bit short. Even if you don't specifically like platformers you will want to pick up this game just for it's random comedy which is very funny. Also as a incentive you get the next season of the game for free on December 15th.

Fantastic fun game, great sense of humor with they guy being eaten by the shark, the level design I thought was well does presenting new challenging environments every screen. A couple of bugs but nothing to bad, only real complaint is no windowless mode

A really funny game, but sadly I had many problems with slowdowns and bugs of many sorts. Probably because of some compability issues on my part or something, but it made the game hard to play in spots.

Everything that was good about the flash game, but with more humour more levels and more moments of incomprehension (in a good way). The final boss is hard almost to the point of frustration, but it's satisfying. May seem a little short for the price but season 2 is included with this which is coming out in December

I like this game. Its is a puzzle platformer and every one i show it to thinks back to the old 2d duke nukeum games. Its funny good art style and good replay value. But I do not like the lack of a full screen mode and sometime my controls would get stuck like fire or the left arrow. It also does not have online leader boards which I think would help this game.

The game is extremely short, quite difficult to play but nevertheless, I enjoyed this game immensely. For $10, it's short so there's a small short exchange there but they will give us for free Season 2 so it makes the $10 tag well worth it. Plus you fund for Season 2 making!
