Oh wow this is bad.

I've played some real stinkers but this is hands down the most ridiculous game ever made. I got it on sale for $4 and still feel ripped off. The graphics look like they are from the 90s and the character animation, game interface and environments look like they were designed by a game programming 101 student. Save your money, bandwidth and drive space. Yikes!

This game is better than I thought. It is a point and click game which I'm not usually a fan of but in this game it is smooth and fast for getting somewhere.

The house is a really cool old house, has a bit of an eeery feeling. The story line is interesting but not one I am too interested in.

I got this game while on sale and had enough blue coins to buy it, so I basically got it free.

If you are able to buy it with bluecoins or on sale then its worth it but I wouldn't pay more than $5-10 for it because it seems like an older game.

The graphics aren't the greatest compared to games now, especially the people aren't the best looking. I can't find a way to make it widescreen so its basically a box and I don't like the black edges.

If you are into this kind of game it is worth trying if you can spare a few bucks.

This game is from an old Playstation 1 title from 2001. So it runs very well on low end systems. Tried this on XP with a Intel GMA950 chipset and it also run well in Crossover Games, if you are on a Mac.

The gamplay is based on Quicktime events and video like you might know from realMyst or Nightfall etc. You walk only to specific spots on the map but can watch around freely. I donīt like this genre particularly but for a Necronomicon game I could not resist.

As for the Atmosphere, as one of the very few Necronomicon themed games, the horror builds from subtlety and creeping hostility emitted from everything around you. Itīs a slow starter indeed. So donīt let yourself get put off too soon.

As for the gameplay you have to investigate your surrounding, finding and combining items. The stale flavor of a Hidden Objects games sometimes creeps up. But not enough for me to stop playing.

There ARE better games yes, but if you are in bitter need of a Lovecraft fix, this games will gladly help you out.

Im a huge fan of investigative games, and I lean toward the more macabre of this genre. I just find the writing styles in this game in particular to be very memorable. Pathologic gave me this impression as well. Anything that can be both surreal and cerebral Im a big fan of.
