Men of War Assault Squad Game of the Year edition review

Very good game. Maps are polished, units are detailed, core gameplay is very nice, especially on assault zones. It's a game that has a lot of unwritten concepts and a steep initial learning curve, but once the micromanagement of sandbags and grenades is mastered, cerebrally rewarding gameplay unfolds.

I bought this on sale and have been playing it since, really great follow up to Men of War and Red Tide.

Having played since Faces of War (and playing Soldiers: Heroes of WWII retroactively) I'm glad to see this series continuing to grow and improve. The small bugs and issues I have experienced weren't game breakers but do get to me at times. Overall though I have relatively few complaints, great game.

Men of War is an very intressting wargame, you control groups of soldiers, tanks and various other units to capture point on the map. Capturing points give you access to more things to call in, like bigger tanks or airsupport. To me this game was very fun, I liked how I could manage my troops inventories and loot the enemies I killed for ammo or new weapons and also how you can take full control over a unit including tanks, moving them with w,a,s,d and shooting with the mouse. The most fun for me was playing with a few of my friends, this is where the game really shine. But you must really like micromanagement to enjoy playing this game, beecause there is always so many troops to control and they all have limited ammo and other supplies with means they need to loot fallen soldiers for this. Overall a great game to play with friends but gets a little tedious after a while.

After playing Men of War, this was quite easy to get into. Mechanics are the same, graphics look way better, more skirmish missions, more unit variety, more Multiplayer fun. There was really nothing better that they could have done. More of the same, that's what this is. And it works perfectly. This is a game that every Men of War fan has to get. :)

Well its MOW:AS with the added DLC's whats not to like. The perfect purchase, if like me you are late to the franchise, or loved MOW and haven't grabbed AS yet.

Well worth the the asking price. A strong community and some awesome fan made videos, (Innukii's match commentaries are tops)

Get it if you like strong realistic RTS action. The latest patch also adds extra units and fan made mappacks are well worth getting.

Bloody excellent game. I've been playing this game 24/7. Destructible buildings, real bullet ballistics, the ability to choose ammo types, the ability to manually control a vehicle/soldier, the mods, the multiplayer... Just epic.
