This is one awesome game. Although the RPG side of the game is not that important, it manages to deliver an interesting story and a fun gameplay, although i find the lack of meaning on most of the decisions you make throughout the game is quite disappointing, because it was supposed to be one of the main features in the game.

The characters are memorable and you start to care about them as you advance in the story.

Graphics are good, and the view of the planets you visit is outstanding.

A very deep and energetic game filled with story and plenty of puzzles to solve.

The game uses some very famous voices and they are acted very well.

There is also a lot of animation keeping the game fresh and 'realistic' and some funny moments to be had. Will keep you occupied for hours at a time!

One of the all-time classics, as you probably know, What I would like to say about the version here on Gamersgate is that it's drm-free, you don't need any third-party software like Steam or Origin, you just download the game and use the code provided and you are good to go, so thank you for that. Now I'm off to continue playing this amazing game!

Very Well Put Together

I would nominate Mass Effect as the bar against which all modern RPGs should be judged because of how consistently excellent every aspect of the game is. Just about every other RPG has its strengths and its weaknesses. Even when I discuss my favorite games, I can usually find something I don't like; something that could and should have been done better. I find this really hard to do with Mass Effect without resorting to a ridiculous degree of nit-picking. That in and of itself should speak for the game. I even feel that some of the things that the designers changed Mass Effect II should have been left as they were. This game is hard to top and is certainly worth any gamer's time and money.

In my opinion one of the greatest RPGs ever made. Soon five years after its initial release, and it still remains in the top league and is definitely worth to play. Excellent storyline and characters, real decisions that matters (which is becoming increasingly rare in newer RPGs...), good combat system, and numerous opportunities to explore the galaxy for those who are so inclined. And an epic ending (I won’t spoil it for you)!

An awesome game that you cannot pass. Amazing story and well thought of, game play was well at most of the parts with a few bits and bobs but nothing major. Plenty of hours can be put into this title. Recommend

Mass Effect is one of those great series from Bioware. Yet another vast, flagship title from this company, brimming with genuine, emotional story-lines and morally grey areas. Mass Effect is a fine series, but this first installment is my personal favourite, before they over simplified the inventory system and jacked up the action too much to slightly silly Hollywood levels.

Much like KOTOR, Mass Effect tricks you into thinking you're flying through space by changing which planets are outside your ship's hangar doors after showing you the same exciting cutscene of the ship flying away and arriving over and over again. The most space you see is on your galactic map interface where you point and click your ship's path through the systems.

However, the solid storyline set against the backdrop of hard sci-fi is really where the heart of the game is, and it does what it does very well.

The reason I'm only giving it 4 stars is personal preference of Dragon Age Origins over this.

In a far future you, the commander of Normandy, finds out of that one of the council's special agents has betrayed the galaxy. Your job is to stop him!

Mass Effect is in my opinion one of the greatest RPG's ever made.

A (still fairly) modern classic, this game tells an incredible story while also featuring excellent gameplay. One of Bioware's finest, and that says a lot!

While its interface controls can be a bit clunky some times (personally I prefer it over the much more streamlined Gears of War style cover-shooter gameplay of the 2nd and 3rd part) and exploration with the Mako can be repetitive there are just so many moments of pure awesome that those small flaws are easy to forgive.

The skill system is much more extensive than in its successors. Don't expect to be able to hit anything with an assault rifle if you are the wrong class and/or haven't put any skill points into it! The game also feels bigger and more open thanks to the vast number of locations and side quests. This comes at a cost though: the presentation can't completely keep up with the cinematic action in part two.

Still, in my opinion it is the pinnacle of the trilogy and required reading for everyone even just remotely interested in the Mass Effect universe!

A fantastic game. Compelling narrative, huge open-universe gameplay - one of Bioware's best games. Controls can be a little clunky for the PC and the graphics performance is now somewhat dated, but that doesn't stop this being a beautiful game overall.
