International Snooker review

This is a very good game for the price. Picked it up yesterday for my PC and it's very addictive. It has a very good career mode and the ball physics and speed of the table are very believable.

The only fault I have is that you don't appear to be able to nominate a colour ball. Which means a 4 point foul shot if you miss as apposed to say a 7 point foul shot if you were actually attempting to hit the black.

Graphics lack the shine of the WSC Real games but are perfectly adequate and the ball physics and general gameplay more than make up for it.

Good job developers 4 stars from me.

Snooker is maybe most magnificent tactical sport game with curling and golf. These sports also turns in good games, because there's no need waste time phenomenal graphics or other unnecessary things. International snooker is no exception. Basic elements works fine and it's easy to get along with playing. Maybe only occasion of moan is stiff turning camera, which delays strike planning. There are also few changes to buy better club, but character development and other attributes are not in. Main thing is good career more, climbing slowly in ranking to the fame. Big minus is lack of multiplayer, but with this price you won't assume to get all in one package.

I love snooker game but the downloader of this one is broken. It always gives the Error 2 message and doesn't install no matter where I save the downloader to.

As a fan of Jimmy White's Whirlwind snooker and the games that came after that in the 90's and early 2000, I love this game. The aforementioned series got worse as it got older and the last game was 2005 and was pretty bad. This game feels like a HD re-boot of Jimmy White's whirlwind snooker. You have a career mode and a multiplayer (which is dead right now)pretty much the same as those older snooker games. You have to do well in tournaments to earn credits to then unlock other things such as cues, pool game mode, auto chalk feature etc. The AI is decent although can play some crazy shots at times (to be expected in most snooker/pool games). Overall, the price is the winning factor. They have gone for a simple re-boot of the jimmy white style game without trying to add to much fluff and charged a cheap price. For me this is perfect and have been enjoying the game greatly since I bought it a few days ago.

It is funny how one of the most popular lounge sports on the planet is so sparesly represented as an online concept. Offline this game is fun, has goals (although the shop is fairly barren), rankings etc. Cannot fault the mechanics, the graphics (choice of views) and the control method. Fantastic game.. but.. and its a massive but, and it is this.. no opponents. OK AI opponents are amazing, they vary from utter shit to punishing century breaker who tear you apart. Try online the stuff said, play other people around the world.. at first when i bought the game i fugured "hey its new, peeps working out how to play etc" but nope.. its been over a month now and still the online is barren. I just think for the cost of this game you need to be aware that they have no online yet. I would hate to see you waste ur hard earned. Overall... offline game gets a 9/10...online gets 0/10. maybe it will get fixed, i dunno.. but be warned. Its only fair.
