BAD... Very BAD

By OmagaIII posted 25th December 2012

This is a good idea, but it is executed very very BAD.

The vehicles are way to slow and the controls are absolutely the worst I have had in awhile. Tree cutting is ok, hauling them away is a pain due to how the tractor and trailer link with one another. Then moving them from the saw mill to the loading area and from there onto the truck is just so aggravating it ain't even funny. You have no control where it is required, and when you do have control it is slow and useless.

Like I said, good idea, bad execution... :(

Needs controller support! Its an interesting game but gets aggravating controlling it with the keyboard. Also would be nice if the vehicals could move a little faster, it gets tedious dragging logs around at (what seems to me) a very slow speed.

I am a die hard simulator fan, and this simulator is enjoyable, even with the lack of a Manuel, and lack of controller support. The game would be much more enjoyable for me if I was able to use a controller, to me that is the biggest in-game drawback, I would have given it one more star if it did support controllers. But, overall still a fun simulator.

A very enjoyable game from the beginning. The controls can be displayed by simply pressing the "H" key during gameplay, this lists all controls for all vehicles. There's not a mission the same in this game, along with the bonus missions after each intial mission there is plenty to do. There is a a good range of vehicles and two cranes which you can also interact with. Anyone who likes a game with alot of control and iteractivity this is a definate purchase.

After playing this for only a day or so now I think I can give you some initial impressions. First, there is scant little information on how anything works. You have to figure everything out on your own as I have yet to locate a manual. So far this game has been an adventure in exponential slowness and frustration of trying to accomplish nearly anything.

Just trying to cut down a tree means placing your tree-cutter tractor in the exact position necessary to have it cut the tree. The problem is that there is zero information on how this is accomplished. So, what it turns into to is a moving your tractor everywhere around a tree in order for it to accept a cut-tree order. I have only accomplished this 3 times thus far.

If you are looking for a game in patience building then by all means buy this game. If you want a fun casual game then, buy a different game. This game feels like an adventure in futility, and to be honest the most fun I had is when a tree fell and hit one of my tractors and it flew up in the air for life 5 seconds and then come crashing back to earth. It still was not worth it.

If you buy the game here are a few helps on keys:

U=Close Jaws

J=Open Jaws

I=Raise Cable

K=Lower Cable

T=Hand Brake

I personally enjoyed this game so much that five stars doesn't seem enough for it. It is a time consuming, patience-demanding game that does everything it says it does. Someone remarked in their comments elsewhere that it took them a week to process one tree. It took me four hours to process five during my first play. But, I can understand that if you expect something quick and easy, you won't find it here. Read the description and look at the screenshots. That is exactly what you get, nothing more. But, it is so fun! I can't wait to purchase more these simulator games from Layernet. They have won me over!
