Excellent graphics and flight modeling. Still needs patching when it comes to optimization. Too heavy load on the computer especially when compared to Wings of Pray (graphically at least).

This sim requires a fairly good pc to run it .Started off with Xp Athlon X2 5800+ processor and Geforce GTS450 Card ,Was not even playable when i was able to get it to load .I'm now running Windows 7 64 bit with intel i7 2600 and nivida GTX560Ti and with the sim on medium settings it looks very nice and runs smooth with nicely detailed cockpit.

Would of been nice to have detailed information on the aircraft and missions .Overall it's a big improvement on the previous IL-2 and is a challenge to bring down the enemy as they don't go down easy . It's still early days yet and will have to see what patches they will bring out in the future.

Well, I suppose I'm only lucky to have a video-card supported by the game...

But still, this is the 1st game since I've upgraded my PC the last time, that I have to play at medium quality settings (or watch a high quality slide-show)...

The game itself.

It begins (for most of us) with a tutorial. And while it covers the most basic things, it's rly got a feeling to it, that it was made for those, who will play the game on "easy" difficulty settings. Because it doesn't explain any hardcore stuff, like manual engine management, or how different planes behave in different situations etc.

So, uless you are quite expierenced with IL-2 series, and had flown virtual planes for a while now, got a proper flight-joystick and a good deal of knowledge about WW2 era airplanes - IL-2 Cliffs of Dover will have a wery steep learning curve for you (if you ever want to take it higher than "easy").

And I'd be rather pissed, if not for the actual flight-simulation part.

It is still awesome... Why still? Because it is improved IL-2:Sturmovik with better visuals, rather nice compaign (2 of them, actually) and a lot of stuff to shoot down.

Read the small print very carefully.... I have a Geforce 7950GT and the game won't run, the graphics card list at time of release is very restricted. Also many people who have high spec machines are complaining of low frame rates etc.

It seems like a game that has been in development for many years has been rushed out and we're playing the beta version, perhaps the fault of the publishers as Ubisoft seem to have a track record of ruining games. I hope there'll be a patch so we can all play, I don't know how to add a rating in terms of stars but this farcical release would get one start from me. Cheers!
