I got this game because I just finished buying & playing Hollywood Pictures II. I knew the game play would be nothing like the Cinema Tycoon 2: Movie Mania. I was hoping it would be different anyway, because it seemed as though it would be cool. Well, I started playing it, and right off the bat, I can tell it is cheaply put together. Most of the game consists of typing text, and somehow it is able to rate the text you typed which is used as a movie script. This is a very daunting task, however, you can buy scripts, but in the beginning it doesn't look like you have enough money to do so. I went thru the long boring process of buying actors and doing my financial stuff, just so I could make the movie.(by boring, I mean they have this set-up to where it isn't even fun to buy actors, and put together a movie.) Making the movie is a complicated task, with very little variety in the things you can do. It seems you're very limited in the things you can and can't do. The graphics are poor at best, and the button configuration and set-up for the buttons is terrible. Overall, I find this game to be a complete waste of money and time. I suggest you take a look at The Movies: Superstar Edition, the game. It got better ratings and looks way cooler im thinking about getting it myself.

I have Hollywood Mogul 3, the Movies and now this one Hollywood Pictures 2, If this is a new and improved version of the "cult classic" I'm glad I missed the first version. Here are a few of the probems..... crash crash crash fatal memory error etc... The manual that ships with the game is in English but all of the screen shots in the manual are in German so unless you read German you'll need to improvise. Also, this game has a huge learning curve that frustrates the heck out of ya if you can get far enough into it before it crashes you may produce your first movie that doesn't make enough money for you to make another movie. I'm sure there are tricks and such to help streamline the process but I lost interest in this game quickly. LOL easily one of the worst of the 300+ games I own but what the heck it cost less than $10 and I was entertained for 3 hours... but that included downloading time and installation too so really maybe an hour was invested before it lost my interest. Read what Joao Rosa wrote and I can attest that every word she said was true. I thought she was just ticked off and that the game couldn't really suck that bad well er uhmmm she was right.

Folks don’t bother wasting $19.99 + Aggravation.

The game freezes up a lot, if you don]t die from boredom and manage to at least pinch yourself through your 1st Movie release an annoying box office chart screen keeps popping up as you are trying to do your biz.

I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. This is a Ham Award Winning Game Box Flop don’t let it work in your town again!
