Gods vs Humans review

By Kranodor posted 18th February 2011

GvH is a fun little game, but it does have its shortcomings. Goal is to destroy the tower the humans are building while upsetting them as little as possible, as you need their belief to power your abilities. It offers a good handful of mythologies, each with different gods to play. I've now played (all?) three egyptian gods in story/adventure mode and the first level of jupiter, who is the first greco-roman god, and I am somewhat disappointed: I can live with the powers only being placed differently on your belief-o-meter, thus becoming available at different times within a level, but otherwise 8 of 9 being identical within a mythology. Sadly, at least 6 of the powers behave exactly alike (just look a little different, and not even much) even across mythologies. So while the game is charming, the idea is nice, and it can be quite fun, it really lacks actual diversity.
