Gothic II is a significant improvment over Gothic 1, and unlike many other rpg sequels, the quality did not drop, in any areas. Gothic 2 provides a satisfying fantasy story, told in an interesting setting, filled with many interesting and memorable NPCs. The game mechanics are excelent and the choice of faction, which provides significant changes to the already non-linear story, adds to the feeling of actually being in the Gothic universe.

This is probably the best game of the whole Gothic series. This particular version comes bundled with the datadisk, so you are getting the full experience. The game world was created with extreme attention to detail, you won't find any bland or uninteresting spots. Story is as dark as in the first game, and the difficulty is still high. Also, you'll have to forgive the user interface, which has a bit of a console taste to it. The music is dynamic, the graphics are aged, but still look beautiful, if you look past the polygon budget and appreciate the artistic quality.

The best Gothic game in my opion. It has better control, a even better world to explore compare to the first Gothic. It also gives you much less headache from bugs and glitch comparing to the later ones. Also you get the expansion from this package. It is easily the best open world RPG experience outside of The Elder Scrolls series.
