Gothic III Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition review

When compared to the earlier games, Forsaken Gods introduced some combat overhaul, so it can offer a bit more fluid action, where you really feel you are influencing the combat. Graphics-wise, it's the same (high) quality as gothic III, just with a bit different locations. The story is... a bit strange, but at least it stands out and you might remember it for quite some time after you finish the game. If you want to save the world, why not do it in style. :-)

After changing the developer, the Gothic series see a worst entry. The game is plague with glitches and bugs. The exploration is boring since there are not enough interesting spots on the way. The story is also plain as water. A lot of issues are not addressed even with the newest patches. Not a good buying unless you are getting it from one of the Gothic package.

If you played Gothic 3, you've experienced what the expansion pack has to offer. Personally, even after the community patch 2.0, I found this game to be frustratingly simple and still buggy. Combat consists of button mashing, targeting seems random and arbitrary, and as with other Gothic games, you get killed a million times. Unfortunately, this game chugs so re-loading quick-saves breaks the immersion because of the time required. If you have an RPG itch to scratch and you've played Skyrim, I suggest checking out Risen instead.

It could have been better sums this up perfectly, while it's not bad it's just lacking. Unlike Gothic II's expack which was beautifully weaved into the game making it almost a must for gamers Forsaken Gods is not. This is a standalone title that continues the story of Gothic III, thick of it as Gothic 3.5. One of the most noticeable things is the game is that it's less free than the past ones, you are forced at times to do the right thing, while this isn't bad, it is considering the freedom the past games gave you. All and all, unless you get this dirt cheap skip it, it adds nothing to Gothic III in fact removes from it at times.

A great sequel to a amazing sandbox style RPG, this game also allows the freedom to explore, any choice you make will open a different path making this game REPLAYABLE! Combats needs a little time to get used to because there is some reflex element involved which alot of rpg player tends not to have(including me). But this game offers so much more than what meets the eyes, 10/10 in gameplay, 10/10 in story ,8/10 in graphics. A must get for any RPG gamer or for anyone who is interested in trying out sandbox RPGs

It looks like JoWood didn't learn much from releasing a bug-ridden Gothic 3 game. This new add-on is full of bugs, too. But even without them, the game wouldn't be as good as the other recently released RPGs. At least the quest and the story are well done and this add-on for Gothic 3 will bridge the story between Gothic 3 and the upcoming Gothic 4, and feature new adventures.

this game has not improved at all, in fact i think all the bugs got worse.granted the game looks way better but the graphic and engine bugs ruin it.I've played it for 1hour so far and already i want my money back.the best improvement is the voice audio. its not the best writing but at least you don't have to read bad writing. i think I'll put away this game in till they come out with some patches...major patches!!!
