This is what you can expect from a less-than-one-euro game. It's like one of those better free web games which are available in thousands today. Nice for a little while, then gets repetitive.

Fortix, Awesome game for a break!

This is a very good game, I loved the aspect of it, just coming out of playing the demo, I decided to buy the game, and I am not disappointed. Come on guys, this game is a dollar, when I would be happy to pay 5 for it. Give this game a chance, and I think you might just like it.

You are the living embodiment of a cookie cutter. I know, you're saying, huh? But, you are. The game is a big square with a fort (AND DRAGONS!) in it. You're goal is to make squares with your little man to take pieces of the land and finally the fort, easy no? There is a catch, have a dragon or a cannon ball touch little man or the line he's drawing and you die, die too much Game Over, you lose (insert your own Tekken sound effect to that.) All and all, a cute little arcade game, also IT'S ONE DOLLAR!

In Fortix you will end up in the (tiny) role of a knight intent on conquering the strongholds in each scenario: you must therefore move quickly over rough areas while avoiding enemies of various kinds (present several dragons who watch from above, giving serious a hard time.)

Advancing along the level "rid" the portions of the scenario through drawing straight lines in your path. Each area will be considered conquered yours, until you have conquered the fort in order to move to the next picture. Simple in concept, the game manages to secure an adequate degree of challenge, because demand will be increasing attention to the lines drawn along your raids. The enemies are in fact faster than you nell'impedirvi to occupy different areas of the screen. If a line was under attack incompita still lose a life each time.

The bird's eye view, although functional, involves real battles to conquer the last pixel, resulting more often frustrating for those players not yet accustomed to the particular dynamics of the game, not counting the different types of soil will affect speeds on different trajectories and your.

Fortix is a reasonably fun game. You move on a 2d map and cut of pieces of the background by moving from one edge of it to another. If a monster or a catapult shot hits you or the line you cut behind you, you lose a life. If you lose all your lives you hav to start the map again. You always have to move on the edge of the background. You win by cutting away the background around the fort. It's worth the low price and you could always use spare blue coins to buy it.

Fortix is a quite fun little game. It's basically a clone of the 80's arcade game Qix with updated graphics and sound. In it you control a knight in a land beset by dragons, and you have to capture the land by encircling parts of the land. If you encircle a dragon it dies. Furthermore there are canon towers that shoot at you every chance they get. As long as you stick to the line of captured land you're safe except from bats kreeping along the side of the screen. But if you venture out you die if a dragon or a cannonball touches either you are the line you are dragging to cover more territory. The game of course is not the height of originality basically being a clone of Qix. And it is kind of short unless you are going to plow through it on every dificulty. But it sure is fun. And what's more it's dirt cheap so there's really no reason not to get it. By the way the game has been ported to PSP where it's released as a Mini.

Fortrix is fun in it's own way. The basic gameplay is simple: you draw lines to cut off parts of the map and (hopefully) trap monsters in there. However, the variety of maps and monsters makes the game increasingly hard, and VERY addictive.

Only reason it is worth 3/5 as opposed to 4/5 is that the sequel is quite a lot better than the original.

great game for a great price. Kinda like the old school Qix but with a medieval make over. Good fun for a quick blast between more hardcore games.

A good game to buy with blue coins.

For 99 cents - or 990 BCs - Fortix is a great game! It's mechanics are simple, but its obstacles are challenging. Instead of merely fighting dragons and sending siege weapons after towers, you have to send a lone man to "capture" territory by making rectangles around parts of a map. It's good fun. The graphics are fairly good, and the price is less than the bargain bin.

Totally worth a dollar. Worth three dollars. Definitely worth buying with blue coins to make an achievement.

For .99 you can't go wrong. Fortix is a game that's fun, easy to understand, and scalable for all players. Whether you choose the keyboard or mouse control options (which you can switch between on the fly), it's a game you can play with one hand. As such, it's easy to recommend to gamers looking for something solid and simple.

I like the IDEA behind the game but they've pull it off rather poorly. Game is honestly boring & actually could have better graphics even for a simple 2D game. Something to buy with your left over blue coins & not actual $$.

It is a easy to beat game,

But what did you expect from a game that is only 0,69 euro.

If you want to buy something small with your Blue Points.

this is a nice game to keep you busy for 2 hours.

A Qix clone, basically. It has a few characteristics that make it unique, but the basic gameplay and objective does not differ at all. I found this to be quite a mediocre game, neither good nor bad.

Decent Qix clone in a medieval/fantasy setting and worth the $1 asking price. However, I do have a few critcisms: your "hero" moves quite slowly so reaching the powerups that randomly appear on the map is often impossible, while the powerups themselves when you do manage to get them don't last long enough to be really useful. The fact that many stages have multiple areas to finish before advancing with no way to save in the middle of a stage means you'll be playing many areas more than once. Maybe I'm just not that good at this game (though I remember being pretty good at Qix at the time) but the difficuly just seems to be tuned too high, even at the "normal" setting.

While the game was a simple and fun casual experience, I wish more had been done with this game to make the level progression more interesting. For example, I think certain RPG elements could have been added to give the player a sense of progress.

Also, the way the level system is structured--with multi-stage levels and a certain number of lives that have to last through all the stages--is frustrating. Many times, I reached the second or third stage only to die and have to repeat the previous parts of the level.

By razirashid posted 19th March 2011

This game is simple at first and became challenging in later stages get very challenging and honestly I can't seem to finish the game. This is more of an old school casual/strategy game, easy to pick up and put down. think qix, but more challenging and fun.

I got it on sale for .99 cents and it was definitely a good buy, i wouldn't pay $4 for it because there are too many free variations out there on the net.

It isn't a bad game but it can become frustrating and luck dependent in the last stage.

A fun and neat game and a good variation of the original "Qix". Difficulty is OK but the last map is highly frustrating and pushes the border a bit too far. Gameplay is good but the music is somewhat repetitive and will probably get on your nerve (specially after the Nth attempt at finishing the final stage). It entertained me for a couple of hours but like most casual games I doubt I'll be revisiting it anytime soon.

A ver good, and well polished game. Also, quite difficult, those of you who are impatient would be advised to steer clear of this game, as there is a high likelyhood that you will be replaying certain missions many times over!

Other than that, very fun, and kept me entertained for a long while.

Fun and addictive, much like the game it is based on. I did find the easy level was still a little hard for my 7 and 5 year olds, but for me it is great. Even at a higher price it would be a good game.

Fortix is a real gem hiding on GamersGate. It's fun, addictive and cheap! It's the perfect way to spend those lingering blue coins. Based on the old arcade classic Qix, it's all about capturing territory. It's sort of an anti-Tower Defense game as here you are the attacker, trying to take out the turrets. There are power ups, nasty creatures and various other surprises. I highly recommend you check out the demo to see what you think. No matter what type of games you're into, you might enjoy this. Or you might not! But I think it's a very nicely put together game. The music's good as well.

The downsides are as follows:

1. You cannot redefine the keys. You are stuck with cursor keys only.

2. This means that by the time I was nearing the final stages, my wrist was starting to ache from the repetitive movements. Not good.

3. The game is pretty easy overall (though there are difficulty settings) but the final level is annoyingly difficult.

That's it. A fun game, though don't give yourself RSI.
