Death Track: Resurrection review

A futuristic arcade racer. Cool though very dark graphics. It reminds me of POD some times. It has elements of games like "kart racing games", and even borrows something from Split Second, with destructible environments. It's a very tough racing game, you will need skills and great effort to achieve much. It has some quirks here and there, but nothing game stopping.

I definitely agree with the person below that it is quite difficult to control at times but I found the game to be fun. Not being aware of the prior games, I was a bit confused of the whole aspect as well but that did not hinder me from having a pretty decent time with this game overall.

Wow! I bought this because I had just enough Blue Coins for it, I cant believe it's as cheap as this, I personally think it's a steal for the price. Loads of fun on this, I did get the occasional freeze, simply tabbing to my desktop and back into the game sorted this, and I was enjoying the race so much it didn't matter =)

This is a very gloomy doom like game. There is way too much fire everywhere. The race itself doesn't make sense in this environment. You race through a city that is burning up with cars that have weapons. We have nothing like this in reality. I don't know of any place that burns city, make a race track, and give its racers access to weapons to kill one another. The whole idea behind this game is gloom and doom with no realism to it.

I got this game as part of a collection. I would not have purchased it by itself. However, I have it, so I decided to give it a chance. The only positive thing about this game is that the handling of the cars is decent.

The game has some problems such us a not exceptional graphics or not good performance optimization (at least on my pc), but the it is really enjoyable and the enviroment can be completly destroyed. The race is quite a mess, and you will be killed some times but in the end is really fun!

I have to disagree with the earlier review who didn't get the setting.

The game itself is based on a prior game and universe where cars with weapons compete on tracks. Like gladiator matches with cars.

Movies like Death Race (IIRC) played on this angle. Earlier pen and paper games like Car Wars embraced this.

There was the original Death Track game out in the days of 386/486 computers.

Its about cars with guns.

It is true to the genre and seeting of cars with guns.

The game play was decent for that setting. However, I dont have a steering wheel controller which obviously would improve game play. I did get through a few races on keyboard but its hard to do the turns just right.

Its about cars with guns. If you like those you could enjoy this. Tricky to steer without the right controller.
