Disciples 2 Gallean's Return

Rating: 4.3 (360 votes cast)
Disciples II: Guardians of the Light is a stand-alone expansion that lets you dive into the fantastical world of Disciples II as either the Empire or the Mountain Clans.

The Empire is decaying from within as self-proclaimed rulers struggle for control of the now vacant throne while a cruel Inquisition sweeps across the human lands, causing rebellion and misery. Meanwhile the Clans, recovering from their near-destruction, begin to reunite their tribes. They have received divine instructions and now seek to uncover an ancient ritual that will let them communicate with their god, Wotan.

Disciples II: Servants of the Dark is a stand-alone expansion that brings you into the never-ending quest for supremacy as either the Undead Hordes or the Legions of the Damned.

On the dark side, the Legions of the Damned enact a plan to spread Bethrezen’s plague across Nevendaar. They sense the threat brought about by the rebirth of the Elven god and will stop at nothing to steal this power for their own purposes. Perhaps most pivotal to the conflict, however, is Mortis and her army of Undead Hordes. After all, the rebirth of her husband Gallean was her doing. He had rejected her for what she had become, a twisted, heartless beast. Now she would teach her mate a lesson... one that would scar his people for eternity...

Disciples 2 Gallean's Return review

By mbpopolano24 posted 3rd March

Disciples two is a wonderful game. Although I like some of the new directions Disciples 3 took, the reality is that the second game, together with all the expansion packs, is the best, and still very playable today. Gallean's Return contains the first two expansion packs, Servants of the Dark and Guardians of the Light, for many dozen hours of pure, turn-based, fantasy strategy. Do yourself a favor and pick it up, at this price is too good of an offer.

Disciples 2 Gallean's Return review

Disciples 2 Gallean's Return has not aged well. A clumsy interface, dark and unhelpful screens and unnecessary complexity mean this game fails to provide the modern player with an incentive to turn away from more modern, faster-paced offerings such as King's Bounty.

A pretty awesome expansion pack for an already awesome game. The campaigns are expanded, new units, better AI... if you liked the original Disciples II but don't have this yet, you should definitely get it. It makes everything about the original game better.

This expansion is easily worth the money, as it expands all of the campains, allowing those who finished the game wanting even more to have it.

An amazing game expanded with extra missions and gameplay. Keep in mind that this is the base game plus the two expansions 'guardians of the light' and 'servants of the dark', the former adding about 4 missions to the empire and the mountain clans, the latter adding 4 missions to hell's legions and the undead. The pack also improves the AI and fixes various bugs, so is well worth getting rather than just the base game.

A solid expansion to an already solid game.... this expansion adds not only some new missions, but a few news units to fight with as well. It is true that the content here isn't exactly the longest, it is more than worth the price of admission. Download this now & you won't be disappointed.

Disciples 2 Gallean's Return review

As a bundle including the entire contents of Dark Prophecy along with new content, it is obvioiusly very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the way the game is distributed and its expanded versions gets a bit confusing (Galleans Return and Rise of the Elves being two different expanded versions, for example). Still, Disciples is an excellent series, and this is a worthy addition to it.

As a loyal fan of the series, I can wholeheartedly recommend this expansion. The additional campaigns have a very interesting storyline, and provide many challenges. We have a few new units, for example Spirit Wolves. Level cap for heroes is also heightened, now you can build truly powerful characters. And a new config editor allows for even more flexibility in the game.

Disciples 2 Gallean's Return review

Disciples 2 Gallean's Return is in fact pack of 2 add-ons for Disciples 2 Dark Prophecy game. We find here 4 new mini-capmaigns for each nation, new multiplayer maps. We can now play in better resolution and can hear new music theme. Also programmers prepare better AI. For ones, who want to create their own map there is also map editor.

Now we can spend much more time playing this one of the best games.
