Quite refreshing

I am usually bored by FPSers, too often it is same old, same old. Not so much with Bulletstorm - while it still is a tube shooter, the excessive gore as well as the addictive scoring system make me play this over and over again without getting bored. It may not revolutionise the genre, but it sure is a lot of fun

Awesome!

I love FPS and this was amazing to play the combat + humor in this game are so good it is a game I will never forget. I will give it 4 stars because it is kinda short and the challenge mode doesn't keep you playing. Still 4/5

After playing the demo I couldn't resist buying the game, it's mindlessly fun. It gives an arcade like feel with the skill-shot system. First Person Shooters have never been as fun in my opinion. I definitely recommend anyone to buy this, especially right now as it's on sale for 25% off.

This is an excellent shooter that doesn't take itself too seriously. The arcade stylings of the skillshot system make killing enemies really fun and encourages you to figure out the most creative methods to do so. Certainly one of the better games I've played this year.

This game is a complete light show!

From kicking an enemy off the balcony to make him fall to his death, to shooting a cannon loaded with a drill like bullet into an enemies face. This game will excite FPS fans like no other.

Bulletstorm is a game based around killing your enemies as stylish (or gruesome) as possible, players are awarded points for completing the various trick shots with the various weapons included in the game, and combining these weapons with the leash ability (which allows you to pull enemies up to your position) and the various environmental hazards around (Giant Cacti for example).

While the single player is fairly short, it was 110% enjoyable throughout the experience. The game also comes with a sort of challenge mode (called echos), these allows you to play multiple parts of the campaign in a challenge mode which will score you based on the variety of trick shots and the time taken to complete the course, which also include fully integrated leader boards.

All in all it was a very enjoyable experience and worth my money for sure!

this is a verry fun fast paced FPS game that unlike other FPS games today dosn´t concentrate on realism ,but concentrate on how fun it is to shhot people and monsters and get diffrent combos and special"skillshots" like killing 2 enemies at once, the only bad thing about this game is that it is quite linearly, but it is rarley that you notice this from all the carnage and all the fun you have shooting guys.

I want to make it short for you... It`s an awsome game and you should definetly buy it if you like action first person shooter. It has flaws but their not that bad.

Now I want to get specific about it.

In BulletStorm you play as Grayson Hunt, a mercenary whos chased by his former General Surrano. The General used Hunt and his crew to kill innocent people with them thinking they`re killing mass murderers. Now Hunt and his crew are on the run. Years passed when they accindently run into Surranos ship. Hunt wants revenge and decides to attack the Generals ship, and this is when all starts to fail. You, your crew and the General crash on a planet which is publicated by mutants... NOW.... this is where it starts to get fun:

You start to get after the General and for that you got to fight your way to him with a lot of different ways of killing people.

Gameplay:

It`s all about killing with style. You`ll actually even get points for killing with style. F.ex. you can draw an enemy with a whip near you and then kick him into a cactus. With the points you earn by doing so you can buy weapon and whip upgrades. It works intuitive and you`ll feel like a total badass when you launch five enemys in the air with a barel and let them explode mid air. NOW THAT IS REAL SATISFACTION!!!

The gunplay also works pretty good and it even gives you a alternate fire mode. The thing I don`t like about it is that you can only carry three weapons at a time but you`ll find a shop pretty often so you`ll be able to switch out your weapon layout pretty easy. In those shops you can also buy uprades for your weapons.

I also find the way you run kind of wiered. You actually use the "Spacebar" to run. But that`s no issue but kind of unusual.

Technical site of things:

The game runs smoothly and looks great for an "Unreal Engine" game. The only thing I got to criticize is that the sound is sometimes a littlebit wiered. F.ex. you look someone strait in the face when he talks to you, but you won`t hear him. If you turn a little bit you`ll actually get the sound... That`s kind of akward.

Conclusion:

It`s a great game and you`ll not regret this buy.

Last year, we've seen the release of a number of generic first person shooter games such as Call of Duty : Black Ops, Medal of Honor and Aliens versus Predator. In these games, you basically run, shoot, cover, shoot, cutscene then repeat. Now I'm not having a probably with linear games but if the game is going to be linear, it's better if it's done well instead of even more boring gameplay.

Bulletstorm is exactly that FPS game that adds flavour to your linear games. Being the selling point of the game, the "kill with skill" motto does not lie. There are many ways to kill the enemy and you are rewarded for stylish kills, which are called skillshots. If you accomplish a skillshot, you are rewarded points which can be used to upgrade and buy new weapons.

You even have a leash which allows you to pull the enemy towards you. This allows the player to be more creative in how they kill their enemies. If your enemy is over the other side of a grid fence? Pull him and watch his limbs dismember.

The single player action never stops. There's never a dull moment.

For the multi-player , it is great fun, especially if you have some friends playing with you. You and your team mates must survive wave rounds of enemies and must kill them with style in order to rack up points. You and your team mates are encouraged to work together in order to accomplish team skillshots.

If you are worried about game performance, I'd recommend you to wait for the demo. Other than that, this game is non-stop crazy fun.

I just finished the game and would not by any means recommend it to any one who demands a deep and catching story. The menu conversion from console to pc also sucks and the game is filled with clishés.

But if that doesn't bother you, go ahead and buy it now.

The beautiful level design is in it self enough to give this game a top score. It feels like not a single spot was missed during the creation of the worlds and the view is breathtaking. Even the underground levels is stunning and you would often find yourself gazing at the environments. Though the story it self isn't the best, it enthralls you and makes it worth your while. It rarely gets boring and it never gets too intense. Just over the top like those block-buster-movies i hate to love. Speaking of block-buster. The music and scripted sequences is really good and keeps you going.

The playtime isn't impressive and you could easily finish it in one day without casual. Still it doesn't feel too short.

The characters and enemies are very good designed tho the variety could have been better. Voice acting? Meh it is good enough.

There has also been a lot of complaining on various forums regarding the controls which I have never had any problems with. The biggest problem I noticed during playing was that the game often crashed when I died but I guess that would be fixed in a patch.

I do recommend Bulletstorm to people which takes the game for what it is - over-the-top-action-fun-killing-spree.
