This is a WWII game with a great mix between arcade and strategy. While you can directly control each of your units (planes, ships and submarines), you can also use a strategic map to control them as a group. The direct control of your units is very easy and fun to play, so don't expect the complexity of similation games.
The single player mode offers both american and japanese campaigns. The are both lengthy and entertaining. But it is the multiplayer that really shines. All in all, it's a great game.
Overall pretty satisfactory for a quick fix, however the campaign is not immersive at all(extremely bad voice acting) and you need to register with windows live to play multiplayer or even to patch the game, which I felt was extremely annoying. Overall if you are looking for a simple but fun action game with some strategy this will be pretty good for you, but do not expect long time appeal
