A classic of the genre, Smoking Mirror still looks good today thanks to beautifully hand-drawn graphics and clever writing. George and Nico are very likeable leads and the cast of colourful supporting characters are a joy to watch. It's advisable to avoid using guides to get through the puzzles as you might find yourself finishing it quite quickly otherwise.

Voice acting and the hand drawn 2D graphics are still awesome as far as I'm concerned. I can't say the same for the story though; it's definitely not as good as the story in the first one. The quality of the puzzles is a step back too.

A Great sequel to a great game. Not as good as the first but ut has interesting story charatcters and puzzles. The graphics are brilliant for its time. A must play.

Just beautiful

Years before the Dan Brown hype and the god awful Nicholas Cage movies this game captures the brilliant suspense and excitement while exposing a Templar conspiracy.

The bad: The graphics a little dated and some scene aren't just that well drawn, and the voice quality is a little crackly.

Aside from these small issues this game offers point'n'click adventuring at its finest. Most puzzles are logical and satisfying, the hotspot markers prevent stupid pixel hunting and the hint system avoids frustration. Story and characters are engaging and interesting, and it's just charming. The price is a steal and it is definitely worth your time if you enjoy point'n'click adventures.

One among the best adventure series games on the pc, the broken sword series is great has tons of puzzles and a great story, its recommended that you play the first one to understand the story better, graphics are smooth and represents the game theme very well.Music is done very well, although the puzzles can get very hard at times making you get stuck in the game sometimes, the story is great highly recommend playing this series, if you are an adventure games fan. Get the triple pack that has all the three games.

Quite possibly one of the most unique adventure games out there. The art used in the game, not only is is beautiful but also because of it the game stood the test of time. I highly recommend it.

Quirky follow up to Broken Sword. This one takes place in Central America with the Mayan Temples as back-drops and added as part of the mystery. Even though the animation is old and the game plays sort of slow, it is a classic adventure game that is part of a fun and great series.

Those who have played the first game will have some idea what to expect here. Those that haven't would be better off starting with the first game first.

Broken Sword 2 is an entirely new story, but the situation between the characters has developed since the fist game so it would make more sense to begin there.

The formula is very similar to the first. The gameplay and puzzles aren't radically different in nature, but there are at least no sliding tile puzzles in this one.

All in all Broken Sword 2 is both a fine addition to the series and to the adventure genre as a whole.

Classic adventure game can not be bad, am I right? In this case this thesis is true. Despite the passing years 2D graphic and music are still quite good, IMO voice-acting may be better. It isn't that bad at all but I expected more. Overall I give this game 86%. I recommend this game to all adventure-game fans.

I quite enjoyed this game, even though I have no experience with this series' preceding nor succeeding entries, and while I revere many point and click adventures (The Longest Journey being among my favorite games of all time) I wouldn't really consider myself an avid fan of the genre. Broken Sword 2 itself is a great entry as a standalone game due to its (Mostly) beautifully drawn scenery, very well voiced characters and consistently funny soliloquising the game's two protagonists partake in and mostly tongue in cheek and humorous dialogue. The always pertinent puzzles are fine, ranging from easy to medium difficulty, and I was very rarely struck in one area for too long. There aren't essentially many things that mar this beautiful game, but the cutscenes are mostly quite silly looking. This I think is more a product of the vintage of Broken Mirror 2, and for that I would let it slide, but it occasionally becomes so glaring I can't help but chuckle. The game feels appropriately long and doesn't lose steam, although the ending is a bit.. Abrupt. It's not bad, it just feels as though it ends before it can wrap up satisfactory. There are also some continuum things that I feel I might understand slightly better had I been more familiar with the previous game.

Overall, this is a great adventure game with funny and well written dialogue, amusingly over the top and stereotypical characters, decent puzzles and beautiful graphics. It might not blow you away, but I believe such things are reserved for only the truly special games out there anyway.

This is a solid point-and-click game, good for fans of old-school adventures. While Broken Sword 2 - The Smoking Mirror might not be up to par with the Monkey Island series and the like, it is an entertaining game in its own right. The writing's charming and witty, with a dash of off-color humor thrown in the mix. Cartoon cutscenes are a nice feature, and the game's graphics are generally pleasing to the eye, too. The puzzles are not frustratingly hard, although sometimes they suffer from the usual adventure game illogicality. A few times a small hotspot might force you to go pixel-hunting, but the game allows you to turn an object-labelling feature, which is very helpful. All in all, despite a silly, hole-happy plot, Broken Sword 2 - The Smoking Mirror is an amusing adventure experience, especially considering it is from 1997.
