Really big sky is one of the few simple games I can spend hours at a time in. Don't be put of by the fact that I say it's simple for infact that adds to the game. I for one would not like this game to be invaded by overwellming feature. If uoi can buy it, BUY IT!

This game has a good base for twin stick shooter, but it's poorly used to make a good game.

The good base are the aesthetics, the music and most importantly the random generated levels (to some extent) with all that variety of enemies which has the potential to provide somewhat different experience on every playthrough.

But the current game is very very punishing. One hit from the enemy and bam you're dead, game over. The problem is that with the first weapon you can't go too far - you play for a few minutes and you die by some enemy you won't even notice. To go further in the next playthrough you probably need upgraded weapons and equipment, otherwise you'll die. Problem is to update something you need lot of points and to get those you need to repeat those few first minutes a lot of times and that is repetitiveness.

Some Lives system would be good.

At the end, I hope that the planned update named Really Big Sky will be a playable game. According to twitter page of the devs it should be out in a couple of days.

Very good gameplay but the game just doesn't work well on Windows 7. Scores are not saved between sessions, loosing all progress. The options are very limited with a maximum resolution of 1280x...

In resume, fun game concept that was ruined for me because of the implementation.

Big Sky has an absolutely fantastic aesthetic. The soundtrack is amazing and probably my favorite part of the game. The visual style is also really well thought out and executed. The game mechanics in general work well and the drilling ability was pretty fun to play with. In terms of bosses, don't expect much. There are really only two and they serve more as a change of pace than as true bosses.

Enemies are generated dynamically but on rare occasions a bug causes enemies to stop generating. However, I have only encountered this bug once during my entire time playing the game. A more serious bug occurs when opening the Options application. Don't use it at all, for some reason it will erase all of your game data. You can, however, modify the options in-game, so using the application shouldn't be necessary.

This is the type of game that you can pick up and play for 15 minutes or put several hours into. It may not be the deepest shmup but it's very nicely done and well worth playing.

This game nails perfectly dual-stick controls in a horizontal scrolling shooter. The feel of the game, the visual presentation and the music all make me grin when trying to crack a new score.

Boss Baddie make my dream games and Big Sky is better than any indie title offered on steam.
