Singleplayer game is very poor. Very short and cliched story. Multiplayer is where it's at with this game though and is superlative. The 'Battlelog' system is a very good way of keeping your stats, promotions and experience all up to date and easily accessible. If you upgrade to the premium version, you get all 5 multplayer expansions that give an incredible amount of depth and a massively diverse set of maps and game modes.

Don't buy if singleplayer is what you're after but multiplayer has to be the state of the art for the M/P FPS genre right now.

The game is probably one of the better multiplayer shooters on the market, but I'm not saying it's the best for everyone, BF3 is more large scale, open style combat, if you're used to playing CoD then be ready for a fairly big change in pacing and action (Not to say that the game are always long and no action, but the game will more often than not take longer than the average match in other games and the action is dependant on the number of people on the server, the map, their playstyles) So, it's a change.

My personal Battlefield 3 review, From what i experienced.

excellent game, super fun to play. the DLC is fresh, lots of unlocks and dog tags to keep you busy. but the best part of BF3 to me is the fact that you have to work together as a team to achieve victory in most game modes. no other FPS incorporates vehicles into game play better than this game. whether you are fighting in a tank, a chopper or a jet - this game is plain ole fun! and the developers did a great job incorporating real life gun characteristics into the game. in other words: each gun you use is based on real life stats like: muzzle velocity, bullet drop, rounds per second and accuracy. you will have a blast running around as a sniper, engineer, assault or support class. and each class has its own advantages and disadvantages. and this game is incredibly deep - it's not just your typical COD run and gun game. there are new things to discover and new ways to kill enemies and bring your team victory on the battlefield every day. don't believe me? just check out one of the many BF3 video gameplay vids on youtube. things happen in game on BF3 which are not possible on any other game franchise. it's by far the most realistic militaristic game on the market. bring your headset because team work is at a premium in BF3! i've been playing for over a hundred hours and am in now way tired or bored of the game.

Brilliant game, one of EAs best, where they have successfully continued to hold battlefields online multiplayer legacy. Although the game does lack when it comes to the campaign where I felt the game was trying to be a top budget movie at the same time, which led to a slightly dissatisfying story, even though the visuals are brilliant. One complaint I have is that EA is still trying to get every penny possible out of my pocket, as I own this on the Xbox, with the premium dlc yet if I want premium on the PC I am forced to purchase it again for another £35 which is ridiculous, and I won't be purchasing it again.

Battlefield 3 is a great FPS shooter, personally I found that the vehicles enhance and subtract from the experience but this game has offered hours of fun and is still one of the current best FPS multiplayers out.

Offensive to the eye. I play hard because they may not choose the same squad with friends.

The best Battlefield experience available to date. Its a gorgeous game and it contains all that you want out of an battlefield game. Intensive vehicle battles on huge maps and a robust squad mechanic system to boot. One of the greatest improvements to its mechanics is the point system which deals out almost equal amounts of points for being supportive to ones squads, giving them ammo and healing etc, as it does for killing enemies. This leaves a very co operative feeling compared to other multi player shooters. The single player campaign is tolerable but nothing special as with the co op missions. They're worth going through ones for weapon unlocks but they're nothing you will come back to.

I enjoyed the hell out of bad company 2. In my opinion, battlefield 3 is a step down on many ways. The destruction is more and subtle, and because of that, less enjoyable. It hardly adds anything to the gameplay. In Bad Company 2, this was different. I enjoyed blowing up entire buildings, killing everybody inside. I also miss the quad and good map designs.

Battlefield 3 is still an enjoyable experience, and the presentation is top notch. I just wish it was more like Bad Company 2.

Has decent(albeit liniar) single player campaign.

The multiplayer takes some getting used to for a non-PC gamer, but once you get the hang of the controls and game mechanics, there's no end to the amount of fun you can had.

Pros:

* If you have a group of friends to play with, the game becomes much more enjoyable.

* even on low settings the graphics are great.

* Huge map and alot of gun variety.

Cons:

* The game can get boring if you're not playing with friends.

* The DLC adds new weapons, some of which are superior to vanilla weapons. Which can be frustrating if you have no plans to buy the DLC.

Battlefield 3. For the Mulit-player!

Single player

No doubt beautiful (If your system can handle it) but incredibly linear. Seems the story is a little "thrown together" but it's enjoyable and worth playing, if a little short...

Multi-player

Fast paced but yet encourages team work. Combines a great progression system with the incredible level design. If you can find a good server you can have ALOT of fun here.

Well not much to say about it not very different from the previous Battlefield games a few new things here Destruction 2.0 update or was it 3? and so on. But none the less EA did another good job sure there are things we dont like and vice versa but in the end if you have a good team and are in Voicechat together the game gets really fun.

Performance wise it is such an evil game, meaning with my settings an old Athlon 64 x2 3000+ and 6gb RAM and a midrange GPU you probably wont get more than ~30 FPS it is playable but you see and notice a lot of disadvantages.

Nonetheless it is still fun to play =)

Thia game is absolutly amazing, great gfx, sound is incredible, is more hardcore than CoD's series, that why some may love it others will hate it for that, the Single Player is good enough to replay it, i personally didn't like the changes to the browser, but other than that this game is AMAZING.

I've never been much of an FPS fan - disliked Modern Warfare 2&3 - but, I really like this game! The atmosphere crated is quite amazing, largely due to the sound design which is spectacular. Every shot has weight. This really is a beautiful game! Though demanding, everything looks gorgeous. The actual gameplay is also impressive, easily beating out any other FPS I've played. The storyline is good enough you'll want to know what happens next but not really care... I was really surprised by this game, I got this purely to play with friends and has become part of my regular play cycle. GG

The perfection of the Battlefield formula.

I might even go as far as to call it the ultimate multiplayer shooter of today, but tastes differ, so I'll try to mention the features that lead me to form this view:

- Intense infantry combat.

- The inclusion of suppression effects, for the first time, model more realistic infantry tactics into a first-person-shooter, and give a good reason to play a machine-gunner the way they would in a real war.

- Usable Vehicle, which add another layer of thought to the combat: battling a tank is very different than sniping at running soldiers.

- Aerial vehicles, including jets, which provide for a lot of fun if you get to use them.

- 4 different classes with different play style, and many unlocks for each.

- A lot of shiny guns to pick from, and all of them feel very satisfying to fire.

- Squads allow players to work together towards a common goal, and use their abilities to complement those of squad-mates.

- Co-op play rewards you with additional weapons for multiplayer matches.

As a multiplayer game, though, Battlefield 3 suffers from the common problems of uneven matches, connection problems, and varying quality of players. However, if you manage to find some friends to play with in a single squad, it is an *unforgettable* experience.

What a game, and what a soundscape! The feeling that comes over you when in one life you shoot down an enemy aircraft, parachute out your beeping and burning jet, land among enemy foot soldiers, manage to pop a tank and then finally be laid to rest by a knife to the jugular is just not found anywhere else. With a large selection of varied maps, customizable classes and sounds so good you kind of pray for rockets to whir past your virtual head this game comes highly recommended. Not just by me, but almost everybody that has played it. GET IT NOW!

*Pros: You play as 4 class soldiers on large maps, with vehicles (tank, jet, helicopter...) and so many weapon to play.

*Cons: This game need a good computer to play, if no you will get difficultly to win with low fps

If you are thinking right now to either buy Battlefield 3 or Modern Warfare 3, you can stop.

Buy Battlefield 3! It's intense Multiplayer experience is relly good, nice graphic and awesome sound :)

You can say that it's quite similar to BF:BC2 but yet again, it's not.

It's better, so buy this game now to be part of the Battlefield 3 community.

See you on the battlefield trooper :)

After playing BF:BC2 for almost a year and a half and getting over 600 h online, I could not wait to get my hands on BF3. And did it deliver, it sure did.

Starting with a SP portion of the game: it was really good, a bit strait forward but it does a very good job of familiarizing you with the game`s mechanics. Maybe not action packed as certain competition but graphics and solid story make up for it.

The MP campaign is something else, what i liked the most is that developers haven`t changed all the good things from BC2, but they improved overall game play even more.People have to get that this game is not about K/D ratio. No, it is all about teamwork and getting things done with your squad. This is the best part of the game, because a good squad can achieve a certain objective fairly easy against a team that is full of loners searching for K/D.

Battlefield 3 is a immense War First Person Shooter game, developed by DICE and EA Games. The game is well-known by it's graphical revolution and the new engine Frostbite 2.0 which brings the player that epic feeling of war. Frostbite 2.0 gives you great sounds effects, amazing explosion and bullet effects and to spice it all up, it allows the player to take down buildings. Battlefield 3 is one of the , if not even , the best FPS game ever made.

*Note*

To play the game, you need to have Origin program and Internet explorer open. You cannot play the campaign or the multiplayer without the internet. The game is currently getting lots of patches, making it very smooth running and stable. Do not let this little note scare you. This is the best FPS game, so don't avoid it - you'll be making a huge mistake.

First off: Buy this game for the multiplayer, not the single player.

The graphics are absolutely amazing, if you have a PC that can handle the maximum settings. Remember that this game is basically built to played for long term players, so your computer today might not be able to handle the maximum graphics.

The Battlefield series has always been famous for its sounds. As always, the sounds are absolutely realistic and totally immersive.

There are a lot of unlocks in multiplayer, so you will have plenty of goals for you while you level up. Also, just playing for a long time gives you experience for unlocks as well!

However, despite all this, you may want to wait a little while for a few patches to come out. I personally have had only a few problems, but there are people out there who can't even run the game yet! If your going to buy now, make sure you check the forums first to see if there are still any major issues at the time for of purchase.

Dice is out with the new Battlefield and they have done an excellent job in most aspects.

The guns feel very good, it's skill based and you get better with training and how well you know the levels. Rush is a very fun game mode and with a good team can be very rewarding in points.

What I don't like is that in conquest mode , tickets do not scale with player numbers, so it's the same number of tickets when 32 there is players and 64 players. I don't think that is correct. And some maps is imbalanced in conquest mode. Like Metro in conquest is hopeless, the team that holds the center point is going to win.

And the last thing I have to comment is the sights on the different guns. In my opinion it is a subjective choice what sight you want to use, and it's boring and frustrating to have to play long hours with every gun to unlock the sight you prefer to use.

I could also comment that BF3 is not supporting mods. I remember in 1942, the thing that everyone played was Desert Combat. It is in my mind the reason bf became a success, so why stop mods?

The single-player missions in BF3 have some of the best graphics I have seen, however the game-play is extremely linear, it plays more like a vaguely interactive movie. In contrast, the multiplayer is amazing, it feels very similar to Bad Company, but with the scale one would expect from a Battlefield Game. This game is fantastic; the 'someone-has-got-my-gun-and-is-dragging-me-through-the-SP is annoying, but the MP more than makes up for it; which is why you get BF anyway right!?

Well, i can't say that I wasn't worried when I first bought this.

I played the beta and I must say I didn't like it, therefore I ended up not pre-ordering the game.

Now a few days later I bought it anyway, after I've heard about all the major bugs being fixed and the party system working way better now at release. Also the squad system is better, I can't say it's good, it doesn't work as well as Bc2 but its not rubbish anymore at least.

There are some flaws here and there but nothing major anymore, so im enjoying it, the multiplayer that is.

I tried the campaign though and its rubbish! Glad I only bought it to play multiplayer, would have been upset otherwise.

Its so bad, I mean sure the story is cool and everything looks amazing but seriously the gameplay... Its an interactive movie with quicktime events. I give this game a 4/5 since i dont give a crap about the campaign. Although if this wasn't a multiplayer I would have rated it 2/5.

So-far I'm really enjoying this game.

The graphics are pretty good, especially the lighting effects! Another of the highlights is the sound which seems quite realistic.

The single player is fairly straight-forward and basic and is best seen as a brief introduction to the controls and mechanics of the game before getting to the main event, the multiplayer.

The Multiplayer is probably the reason why most people buy this game and it doesn't disappoint! There are tons of upgrades to get and not just in the form of weapons. Each weapon has it's own upgrades to get and each vehicle has at least ten things to unlock.

The gameplay has been improved as well from BC2 with the ability to go prone added back in, the re-introduction of jets and a new suppression mechanic. You can suppress an enemy by firing large numbers of bullets towards them, which makes their screen go blurry and reduces their accuracy. If an enemy is killed while suppressed, you get points for suppressing them.

Another improvement is that you get kill assist points based on how much damage you did.

There are lots of other improvments that have been made from BF2 and BC2 that I haven't mentioned, but it's safe to say that if you've enjoyed playing any other Battlefield game then you'll love this game!

Battlefield 3 was a worry purchase.

Why a worry purchase you ask ?

Because big budget titles these days have so much of the publishers money invested in them that software houses are pressed to meet release date deadlines. This often results in buggy not fit for release games sold to the cash cow customer. It is a higher risk these days as PC games are increasingly becoming an afterthought to console releases, how the worm has turned.

Given the constant lagging and rubberbanding Badcompany 2 experienced BF3 was a definite risk.

There are problems but they are rather minuscule in the scale of things.

Well worth the purchase for the escapist atmosphere of the single player alone. The multiplayer game as usual is down to the players on the server at the time.

Well worth a punt if you have the money.

This is where it's at for Multi-Player FPS, if you enjoyed Bad Company 2, or played Battlefield 2 back in the day. You need to buy this game.

Single-Player is equally enjoyable, while on the short side, it is long enough for the story to unfold. The co-op missions take scenarios from the Single Player and adds 2 player co-op to them, these missions are extremely challenging for the higher difficulty setting and will test you and your partners co-operation.

My only complaint with the game would be that the game launches through the browser and can have some compatibility issues that may need to be sorted out before you can play. But don't let that make you avoid this game, it is a very minor thing when compared to the full package.
