GAME SUMMARY

And Yet It Moves PC

Rating: 4.1 (14 votes cast)

And Yet It Moves is a puzzle-platformer, set in a unique world, made of ripped paper. Within the paper collage, you can jump, run and last but certainly not least: rotate the world. Learn how to apply the physical consequences of rotation to master the many tricky situations you may encounter.

You can play a race against the clock on different levels, too, competing against previous clocked times. Your run will be recorded, as a »Ghost« which can be submitted, along with your time, to the global high scores online. You can download other users' Ghosts to compete with friends and strangers around the world and see who found the fastest route.

Following the acclaim of the previously awarded prototype for And Yet It Moves, we present the full version, containing three exciting and beautiful environments and lots of new challenges.

And Yet It Moves PC review

This is an artsy and innovative platformer. From the background sound effects and music to the ripped-paper visuals, the atmosphere is wonderful. But behind that is some highly unique and innovative gameplay. You can rotate the screen in 90 degree increments, and it changes gravity. So you're character will always fall down, depending on which way the environment is turned. But if he is jumping or accelerating in one direction, he will continue even after rotating.

This makes for some unique and entertaining puzzles. The checkpoints help you go back to the beginning of a section so you never have to restart the level. It's quite a fun time and a great length. The Wii version of this game is the best because you can rotate it in any increment (rather than 90 degrees) and you can do it with motion controls. It also has more unlockables. But the price is far better on PC, so make of that what you will. Whatever the case, this game is highly recommended.

An excellent indie puzzle platformer. I originally bought this game from GG when it first came out (by now I must own it at least 4-5 times from various bundles) and I love its colorful papier-mâché art style and its clever mechanic. It takes a bit of playing to get used to the rotating and jumping but once you get it you'll have lots of fun - the movement, the rotation, and even the jumping seem very fluid. The various levels can be challenging but almost always fair, although you'll probably get sick of the "choosh" death sound after a while on some of them. Some sort of story might have given it some context but it doesn't really need one. Great game!

From gwoman, "If you’re in the mood for a good puzzle, give AYIM a try. If you’re old enough to press buttons on a computer, you’re old enough for this game. In fact, I think it would be a great game to give to kids between 5- and 10-years-old because it help them learn more about the natural laws of momentum and directional force. In a comedic way and out of the path of any falling boulders, of course.

Even if you’re a rocket scientist, I still bet you’d have a blast with this game. Just don’t expect to get your ego stroked. If you don’t die at least 10 times in the first 5 minutes, I’ll eat my mouse. Oh! Major nerd points to anyone who can figure out where the title of AYIM comes from. I’ll give you a hint: Scholars haven’t always agreed on the position of the Earth."
