A-Race Extreme Show

Rating: 3.1 (302 votes cast)

A-Race Extreme Show is a game that successfully blends the genres of thrilling adrenalin-pumping racing and an economic management sim. The aim of a player is to not only become the fastest driver around, but to be a talented manager as well. In the beginning of the game the player has to pick out one of the twelve beautiful young ladies. One of them even exists in reality - she is the winner of Miss Russia contest in 2003. Once you choose a character the task is to make your protégé as successful and famous as possible. The world of A-Race Extreme Show is a world of a TV reality show where girls from different countries (USA, Russia, Ukraine, Sweden and even the Congo) compete to become the fastest driver and to make a bid for the sympathy of the audience. The more popular the girl becomes, the higher her rating grows, the more advertising and promotion offers she receives. The aim is to make the character a superstar not just on the track, but on TV, radio and covers of magazines. First of all A-Race Extreme Show is a show and the audience loves to be entertained. Racing game with emphasis on showing off scantily clad women. Unfortunately not as much effort seems to have been invested into the physics, or even playability, of the game.

Graphically not terrible, but steering and control really leaves a lot to be desired.

A-Race Extreme Show is really a lower end racing game; combining racing with managing. You can mod your vehicle and your driver's career skills. However, the game itself is not all too good and seems like it was published a little too early; the racing doesn't just get you in the feel you are driving a real car (albeit virtual), but rather a rather clumsy toy car...

I would give it 2.5 stars if I could but giving it a 3 seems too generous.

Although I am not a huge fan of racing games I enjoyed this one. You can sign contracts with multiple companies to earn extra money for races which was a nice addition to the racing. The graphics are outdated but that did not seem to matter much as the overall game play made up for this.

A-Race Extreme is a budget racing game that promises plenty of girlies and racing.

There are plenty of options and tweaks to make to your car and character's career before going racing. In fact the best aspect of the game is the management and contracts you chose for your model and car. Rather than being tacked on at the last minute, the model part of the game seems to have had some thought put into it. It is a shame then that the racing is so average that it puts a damper on anything else in the game, since at the end of the day it all revolves around the racing. Steering lacks any precision so most of the time you are bumbling around the track. There are special moves you can use but they are not set up in a way that is easy to use (takes far too many buttons).

Ultimately A-Race Extreme show is an OK game let down by poor racing.
