When the wife of the best-selling writer Alan Wake disappears on their vacation, his search turns up pages from a thriller he doesn’t even remember writing. A Dark Presence stalks the small town of Bright Falls, pushing Wake to the brink of sanity in his fight to unravel the mystery and save his love.

Presented in the style of a TV series, Alan Wake features the trademark Remedy storytelling and pulse-pounding action sequences. As players dive deeper and deeper into the mystery, they’ll face overwhelming odds, plot twists, and cliffhangers. It’s only by mastering the Fight With Light combat mechanic that they can stay one step ahead of the darkness that spreads across Bright Falls.

With the body of an action game and the mind of a psychological thriller, Alan Wake’s intense atmosphere, deep and multilayered story, and exceptionally tense combat sequences provide players with an entertaining and original gaming experience.

A great game that has you traveling through woods facing off against darkness beings. The giant wheel in the second DLC is a sight to see!

Alan Wake is one of the most atmospheric games ever. It's not easy to compare this with any game because I've never played a game like this before. The thoughtful story is just brilliant and while the gameplay can get really repetitive sometimes, it's an unique experience.

This is a masterpiece of storytelling and I can only recommend you to buy this "game".

This game is one of the best Survival Horror Games I played so far. I didn't play it on XBox 360 before, so it's the first time I got in touch with this game. You can see that the graphics are not really up to date, but the atmosphere and story is amazing. I'd say it's a mixture of Stephen King's The Dark Half and Shutter Island. The controls for the PC are very good implemented. After a while the enemies and fights become a bit repetitive and the difficulty only rises with the number of enemies who suddenly appear at the same time. All fights have the same scheme. First you have to point with the flashlight on your enemies, so that the darkness vanishes. Then the enemies get vulnerable and you can shoot them. Nevertheless the game is a very nice experience in computergaming.

So the only thing I can say is: Buy, buy, buy!

Alan Wake was originally a PC Game and was cancelled because of Microsoft exclusivity, and it's finally coming home! It's a masterpiece, very great history, atmosphere and gameplay, the PC version received some love, plenty of graphics customizations (even FOV), achivements and alot all DLCs released so far, it's a MUST BUY!.

Unique, Creative, Suspenseful.

Not since Vampire the Masquerade has a game moved so far beyond the rest. When I thought the gaming world would never stop putting out mindless first person shooters, alas a game which unlocks the full potential of today's technology. The presentation to the senses overloads ones reason, while the story entices the thoughtful, leaving skeptical video game disbelievers engage more fully in the artistic renderings. The early references to Stephen King are a tasteful homage to the master. This game is not simply a technical achievement but an experience of the senses and the mind unmatched in any media thus far. If video games go further into literature, there is no end to the depth and quality of what could be experienced; hell, people might actually learn something.

Plain and simple one of the best games you will find if you want a nice story. Storytelling in this game is just wonderful, there's simply no other game like it. Highly recommended to horror and thriller fans as well as those who just love a good story. Even if you don't like horror games, Alan Wake can only be as scary as you want it to be.

Hopefully the Game Designers of tomorrow will play this game, a true storytelling masterpiece.
