A.I.M Racing

Rating: 3.3 (316 votes cast)

A.I.M. Racing welcomes you to the planet Polygon-4, where deadly vehicles of the distant future compete, swishing planet’s dusty atmosphere at a tremendous pace. Years ago humans along with the Arlings used Polygon-4 for a number of military experiments, but later left the test complex. However, the intelligent machines, AIMs, continue to fulfill objectives they are programmed for: further evolution and self-perfection. AIMs of the Reckoners clan built a network of tracks to test multi-purpose combat machines in action. If you are not afraid of awesome speed, fatal traps and plasma charges, tearing apart your racing glider’s sheeting, A.I.M. Racing is a game of your choice. There is no need to save money to buy a new glider, no need to think, where you can acquire energy supply for a more powerful canon. The clan will give you everything – but you must win!

Fast, crazy... fun!

At first I kind of struggled with learning the basics of this game - especially remembering the keys for all the different attacks. The opponents also seemed really tough at first. However, with a bit of practice I soon started enjoying this game a lot. It's really fast-paces, has a unique design, good graphics and plenty of variation when it comes to tracks and vehicles. It could definitely have been expanded on in certain areas, but as it is, it's a sold and entertaining racing game well worth checking out.

A bit quirky but still fun arcade racing game. Don't expect the next hit of the century, but you won't feel cheated out of your money. The controls might take a bit to get used to, but at this low price you will not regret getting it.

A little more difficult to play than the other two AIM games, AIM racing concentrates on the racing aspects of the AIM games to make it a game theme. Graphics are ok/good, however, the controls are a little tipsy and have a very steep learning curve to master and use properly. This is the kind of game you would want to get if you are willing to spend hours on it to learn how to play properly but after which you would have no problems playing.

I gave it 3 stars because of the hard to learn controls and a couple of issues with the game's difficulty settings that make it more challenging at first for beginners... the game should have utilized a more leveled approach to the difficulty of the opponents.

Very nice game. I havent played any of the A.I.M. games before, but this game is easy to roll into. Ever since I played this one I got very curious about the other A.I.M. Games. Its fast, fun, and even better on a LAN game! You can race your friends, update your "glider" with new weapons, improved handling, better acceleration etc. It's worth its price.

A.I.M Racing unfortunately was not as good as I had expected from the series. It is obviously different from the previous titles in the series as it is a racing game but I just felt like it could have taken more from the previous titles and incorporated that into this game.

Sadly, this game was not what I expected. It had the potential to be a fantastic game, but due to just a couple of bugs, I personally found it almost unplayable.

My main issue is with the collision detection, which very frequently malfunctioned, either sending me through the floor, or trappiung me in thin air, to allow my opponent to happily breeze by me.

I also found that the game is willing to cheat slightly in the harder levels. At some points I'd be miles ahead of my opponent, just to find them teleport to a meter or so behind me, and then go past their topspeeds to quickly take first place.

If it wasn't for these bugs, this game would be first class, sadly, with them, I only give it 1/5.

I found this game way too hard to master. It was too hard to control my ship to keep from running into things. This game really demanded my patience in learning how to master it. I finally decided it wasn't worth it compared to the other racing games out there. I will say the graphics are top notch. If you can learn how fly your ship, you might enjoy this game.
